  1. I got a 73 GP for the wife before we got married. She loved it!!  My Farther In-law and I loved it too with that extra long nose. Thank God she never needed the nose as she is a pretty good driver. A giant step up from the 70 nova family car she used to drive back then!!  She is not a car girl and now drives a honda!!! lol

Willie from what I understand anything older than 10 years old and not registered and never been stolen or major components stolen is considered history.  It used to be that way it may be different now with the computer technology.

This is exactly why i asked you Steve. I heard one of the DMV people talking to her coworker in reference to registering one of my cars.

When my brother built his 26 Ford he built everything but the body himself and it was a race car fiberglass body so if he registered that way in 2007 when he finished it it would have to be registered as a custom 2007 with all emissions regulations for that year. So he made up a Vin and a Vin plate and went to dmv and registered it as a 26. They ran the Vin through data base came up clean so he registered it. Hasn't had a problem since. I'm sure it's different for that old a car.

Hey Steve just for the heck of it, how long did your brother own the 26 Ford before he tried to register it?

  5. Yea but this is New York, Mark!!!   You don't get to breath unless you pay here!!! I would bet if that person is still doing it, he can't do it in NY!!  Glad you were able to but up here there is so much red tape it screws it up.   ☺️

If it passed DMV you should be fine. In Fl they're sticklers on classic cars dealer or not. Personal sales require extra paperwork 🙃

Mark up here it's a bit different, a hand full of years ago i had purchased a 2001 Harley Sportster with a Penn title. Brought it home, registered her, a month later i get a phone call from the DMV the inspector needed to inspect the bike. Everything checked out ok but i couldn't keep it registered under as a Harly as the vin wasn't a Harley vin. It was a Penn vin. Because of that i had to reregister her as a 2015 custom bike. Nice bike, but i wound up selling it because i never found the time to ride her.

Yep. And some of them come up from the underside so you see the “squished rivet” and not the rosette.

Was the upside down rivets done in a certain plant???   Or done in every plant???

  10. Brendan, i would guess there is going to be a lot of massaging there. But i think it would be pretty cool!   I am sure there will be times you are not going to think it will be hilarious!!!   lol    Good Luck!!    Can't wait to see it when your done.

I heard the original owner kept the used parts in the merger. Maybe he pulled the nos and used parts out. I also heard he still owns the building.

That would be nice, maybe he will start all over again with the Monte only parts!!!
