If you are going with the R134, were the flexible hoses you bought the Barrier type hoses. When I did my system I was advised to use the Barrier hoses for the R134 due to the consistency of it.
So, with the original compressor you will need 11 ounces of the PAG Oil. You should be able to get 4 to 6 ounces into the compressor. I would lean toward no more than 4.5 to 5 otherwise it will be hard to mount without it leaking out. I think I got at least 2 to 3 ounces into the drier and the rest into the condenser.
Where did you get all of your parts for your rebuild?
rob
hoses and condenser original air group, evap the parts place, compressor rock auto, drier and valve ebay
-
all new, evap, parallel condenser, hoses, drier, expansion valve, a6 compressor
want to go 134
-
the instruction sheet that came with my compressor say, if the amount of oil removed from the old compressor is less then 2.5 add 2.5 to the new , if it is greater 2.5 add the same amount.
but this is a new install

It would depend upon if you are starting from scratch with a totally new/flushed system or a system where you have only replaced a part in and want to recharge.

all new

The car would still run if the 12 volt starting, resistance wire, and capacitor were connected to the negative and the distributor wire was connected to the positive. It probably just wouldn't run as good as it does when connected the way it was designed.
Is your car not starting now?
No car is still apart, the only wire that look like was wrong is the R from the starter, the distributor was connected to negative and was the tach, the positive has a black wire and the condenser

So I guess that wire from the tsc was just hanging there because I don’t have one

The R terminal on the solenoid is correct. That terminal will give the coil 12 volts during cranking.
But it was connected to negative side

okay so i traced the two wires, 1 went to the R on the starter, don't make sense supposed to go to the positive, I didn't loosen the positive side when I took it apart so i know it was not hooked up to the positive side, car started and ran good before I took it apart, does that wire really matter? wire 2 went to the TSC not sure if it was connected to the negative side of the coil but it in the area with a fork so I assume it was connected there, looking at the diagram it connects to something I cant figure out in the red circle.
thanks for all the help, Sendo

Do you have a coil capacitor on your coil bracket? That wire would go to the + side along with the resistance wire from the harness(probably crimped to a yellow wire).
yes i have that its on the positive side, trying to figure out the negative side

I have 3 wires to the negative side but I don't have points. The tach wire does go to the negative side.
so 1 for tech, 2 for distributor, what's 3?

hello,
going to start putting my car back together, wish I would have took pictures because its been a while. So when I went to put the brown tech wire back on the coil I found three other wires there, one from the distributor and two others that are tape into the harness.
does four wires on the negative side of the coil sounds right? don't want to tear up the harness to trace wires if i don't have to.
the car has points if that matter
thanks, Sendo

hello,
has anyone used these rebuild kit, if so how do they look?
-
OMG!! how do you get the rear regulators in without denting the quarter panel from inside
-
thanks Dennis
I have three washer type mounting tabs on both sides coming out the ribbon, do the wire run under back seat or the bottom seat?
-
-
does anyone have picture of how the rear harness is routed?
-
so many different model numbers for four seasons and ac delco
which one do I get?

70 was a one year only rear bracket that the PCV valve goes right through the middle. You can use the 70 on up BB hoses, but you have to grind about 1/8 inch off the block that the hoses connect to the compressor with. That will clear the bracket. Originals had a rounded connection. I found three in my hoard. Two are store bought, one is original but has new hoses crimped on. The big difference between Chevelle and Monte is the discharge hose is around 6 inches longer.
Hello Andy,
are you willing to sell one ? the store bought one are they rounded to clear the bracket and do they have the muffler?
thanks, Sendo

Give Old Air Products in Texas at (817)5312665. Great people to work with and great technical department. I used them last winter when I restored my AC.

I went to old air products website and they have the same hose for all monte's, but if you look at chevelle and el camino they have two different hoses for BB and SB. so there must be a difference in hose for a SB Monte and BB Monte too
