  1. Thanks for the reply MC, thats actually exactly the info I was looking for. Now do skins do well for wheel well rott? That's mostly what im dealing with in my quarters, just rotten under the wheel well lip on both sides with a rust hole or two. Cheers
  2. Hey guys I know ive been very innactive the past few months, lifes been rough n busy recently but anyways I just found a pair of quarter skins for 200 each locally but unfortunately theyre thinner steel than original, was just wondering if any of you guys have successfully repaired your quarters using these skins? Or if im better off holding out for AMD. CHEERS AND GET THOSE MONTES OUT ON THE ROAD ITS SUMMERTIME
  3. Curious to know if anyone out there has modified the gas tank so that the entrance to where you fillup is on top or side of the quarter panel like they did to the first gen montes when used for nascar in order to fill faster. Would be a cool mod and im too tall to be leaning down to fillup gas behind the plate it stinks too haha . used to it ofcourse but wouldnt mind looking into it as both my quarters already need replacing. Cheers.
  4. Okay so I got the small original one but now i have nothing to hookup my kickdown cable to, any thoughts? Cheers

  6. Tried using two of these different universal ones by transadapt but neither seem to work like they should, anyone using a bracket for the back of their quadrajet that works good? If so whered you find it? Cheers
  7. Ya its most likely running lean, its started stalling at low rpm and barely idles, will try adjusting the idle mixture screws aswell as timing. Cheers
  8. Ya its most likely running lean, its started stalling at low rpm and barely idles, will try adjusting the idle mixture screws aswell as timing. Cheers
  9. Ended up getting my quadrajet rebuilt locally, popped it on along with my new intake and Hei distributor upgrade. Now its almost running steady again but at low acceleration it stutters and bogs making the car jump and stutter untill It shifts. Sometimes even backfiring at low speeds off the line. Once out of the exhaust and now out of the carb today. My question is, is my timing off or is it the carb that needs adjusting? And if so what adjustments exactly qjets are new to me. Cheers
  10. Old stock floor insulation is falling off and chipping away, read a few forums suggesting refectix and dynamat etc, but is that all you put down before you lay the carpet? Or should I put some sort of sealant down first? Cheers
  11. Is there an easier way to mount them do you think? Dont have the tools or space to fab anything myself.
  12. Probably the wrong section but im just wondering if anyone has installed an aftermarket steering wheel like a sparco etc, and if so what hub adapter you used. cheers
  13. Ofcourse those few places dont ship to canada :'(
  14. And by rebuild I mean giving it to someone to be 'rebuilt' and setup properly
  15. Rebuilds cost around 300+ up here in Vancouver Canada so im probably better off buying one thats ready to be bolted on
  16. Wondering for those of you who have pulled the bodies off your monte to do a frame off resto and if so how did you do it without a full hoist and how could I do it for cheap. Cheers
  17. Title says it all, tired if this qft piece of junk... Cheers
  18. alright cool thanks for the replies, think ill try dripping or spraying tiny bits of water in the carb to see if i can clear some out carbon out since ive heard of that method for eons. would you recommend I use warm or hot water so it evaporates faster? and as for the freeway throat clearing I tend to do alot of that so im sure its coughed up all it could in that aspect. cheers
  19. Hey there just wondering if anyone knew any good carbon deposit removal products, dont really trust seafoam etc and I dont wanna open it up and scrape it by hand either. I remember my dad telling me about an old ford motomaster spray or something that worked amazing but it seems long discontinued. Any suggestions? Cheers
  20. Hey Omar mind if I ask where you got your powerplant from? Scrapped cts-v? Pricey etc? Cheers
  21. Hey there Doug was just about to do the same to my 72 quick question though i cant seem to get the back of the signal rear housing out of the grille it looks like sealed rubber or something? Only thing holding me from pulling the grille out. Cheers
  22. thanks for responses guys, Robert with the brown monte did you buy the speedway cheaper tubular arms? how were they quality wise? I was scared they looked alot like ebay no name ones. Im now thinking about going with viking coilovers on the front with viking double adjustable shocks on the back because I cant afford the rear coilovers really at the moment. how big of a loss would i be taking with just shocks in the back instead of coilovers? I believe getting them in the front first is more important and i found this kit on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Viking-Front-Adjustable-Coilover-Spring-Rear-Shock-Kit-GM-A-B-Body-450-/272430252784?hash=item3f6e1bc2f0:g:ZhwAAOSw5cNYE8zc&vxp=mtr was also thinking of getting the speedway front tubular control arm set unless its more worth just waiting till I can afford a more expensive beefy one from Qa1 or UMI? Having quite some trouble deciding here haha any opinions would be appreciated, cheers.
  23. Hey Guys first post here was just looking for some advice before I go ahead ordering parts for my mostly stock 72 Monte. After some research Ive been thinking about going with viking coilovers in the rear while using the hotchkis 2" lowering springs I already got for the front with some bilstein shocks to save some cash. Second I was looking to upgrade the front control arms to hopefully fix the infamous geometric issues in the front end of our A bodies and was wondering what the most cost efficient options were as the qa1 and other brands tubulars are quite out of my budget it seems. Any input would be greatly appreciated and srry for the lenghtly post. Cheers.
