ummm I'm having some trouble getting my water pump off... Can someone tell me the process you go thru to take it off... It's a 72 with factory a/c!
Thanks

Are you talking about this peice? This is from the 1st pic and it's behind the carb.
Also your saying i would have to find a fitting to have the 2 line that are on it now and the brake booster line???
On this fitting the is already 2 line going into it what do I do with the one not going to the tranny?

Ahhhh thanks you guys have been a great help on this I will work on it when I get back from hunting in the afternoon! I'm glad you told me that I didn't know that's how you adjust the float levels on a Holley I'm too used to a qjet and we know how those floats are!
-
Well I bought the carb and the carb kit and took it to a smart friend of mine who has been racing since he was 17 and is now in his late 40s and asked him to rebuild it and asked him bout the float levels and he said "THERE FINE DON'T SCREW WITH EM!!!"
-
No I was saying should I get the tranny kickdown peice off the qjet?
-
Thanks for telling me that but can't I just rob the one off of the o quadrajunk? Also when the car is at idle if I press the gas peddle the carb makes a sucking noise and then acts like it wants to stall why is this?
-
So the smaller one goes to he nipple ne'er the front fuel bowl? And I got 2 more line one for the pcv which is hooked up right and the other is on a metal tube I think runs to the gas tank... Sorry to be a pian in the butt but I'm more of a visual guy! And yea unfortunately I do have to pass a state inspection!
-
Yes I have the fitting on the back passenger side hooked up to pcv... But where do I put that line from the brake booster? Also what goes on that front fitting I have circled in black? And the other line coming from the coal canister that ts, one side to the carb and one side to the distributer where does it hook up on the carb?

-

-
Yea I noticed that it makes it difficult to stop and yes I have a vacuum advance distributer, take pictures of every vacuum line where they come from and where they go! Also one of my friends came over and fixed the idle screws so as far as that goes it's fine. Thanks

Whooooaaa!!! slow down there give me land marks on the carb... saying modulators and widger didgers, and thingys is way over my head! tell me what hooks up where please!
-
The throttle cable hookups... not sure if they are right
mystery line
Where do I hook this up its the line that come out of the brake booster
What hooks up here? Its on the base plate on the front
-
Yes the floats were set perfect! And the reason that plug doesnt look fouled is because it was from a phone camera and the flash was on. Also what hoses hook up where on this carb? I know I have the fuel line right and the one from the pcv right what about the lines from the charcoal canister and the line from the brake booster?
-
Its not a good picture but yes the plugs are carbon soaked, that mens its rich, what are the settings for a holleys mixture scews?
-
I got a holley 600 list number 1850 and i got it put on and and everything hooked up but I dont think its right... I started it for the 1st time and it sounded good but then when i hit the gas it stalled, and there was a big cloud of black smoke!! Then i listened to the motor while it was off and it would click and then 4 seconds later it would click again. Also as i said im not sure if everything is hooked up right and i was wondering if anyone had a diagram on where all the vacuum line and things run, i will post pictures later
-
Oh ok well then i could just buy the new butterflies and it should be okay!
-
But if i dont have a big cam... And could you post a pic showing were the butterflies and because i may be able to use that base plate for parts
-
A friend of mine said that he had a base plate for my holley but the butterflies were drill out... what are these and what would they do to the carb?
-
oh if you could instead of the red in the emblem do the ashes.... my car was my grandfathers(as ive mentioned 100 times) and Im just going to get a sticker made that says his name and the DOB and DOD!
-
True but its in a spot kinda like this and its still in the car...
-
I found a TH400 tranny that I can get for free should I get it?
-
okay so with that edelbrock intake and a holley 750 vacuum secondary should be fine?
