  1. Tony your car is very handsome(beautiful is for girlie things )
  2. Thanks Mike. Now I have to get a shorten driveshaft.
  3. Hey guys I took the cover back off of the BOP rear end that I have and emptied the fluid out and found these numbers on the pinion gear 12A41 GM SS. If I am correct that means that there are 12 teeth on the pinion gear and 41 teeth on the ring gear meaning I have 3.42 gear ratio. Correct? There were these numbers also 894703 220. Any help is always appreciated. Thanks... Rodney
  4. The duration is Int 235 Ext 249 @50 and the lift is Int 489 Ext 476 Lsa 107. I took much needed advice and passed on the pump for now. I might just get a Vacuum reservoir later if I need it. Thanks All.... Rodney
  5. Hey Wallaby it says that it evacuates a 40 cubic inch reservoir from atomospheric pressure to 15 inches of mercury vacuum in a maximum 20 seconds.
  6. Will this work for brakes. It is from Hella Part number 95602. I am just thinking of buying it just in case I need it when I do my cam. It says it's designed to supplement diesel and gas engines in controlling heating and cooling functions as well as door locks, cruise controls, and any other functions control by vacuum. Internal switch turns motor off when the vacuum reaches a maximum of 15 inches of mercury. When vacuum is reduced to a minimum of 11 +2 or -0 inches of mercury switch will reactivate motor to increase vacuum. Anyone with knowledge about this please chime away here. Thanks..... Rodney
  7. No that was Tri City in Tenn. He told me they didn't do grilles and such. Originally Posted By: Jared Richey I sure hope this works out. 8. Hey guys and girls, I dropped off my grille, headlight bezels, taillight trim to get rechromed and it all came up to $450. It's going to be awhile before I get everything back so I wont be able to have any pics no time soon. The place is local here in Cleveland. I told the owner to do me a solid and there will be a lot of business coming his way. I'll keep you all posted.... Rodney
  9. Thanks David for the info. That's the same site that my quick search lead me to also. 10. Ok guys and girls, I picked up a 10" stall converter from a gentleman who says he think it is rated at 3000. He said his wife had problems riding in his 68 Camaro with him cause of the way the car launched during take off. So he bought a Summit g2700-1 which is 2300 stall. The only thing that I see is JHS on the top. I did a very quick search and the only thing that came up was Jim Hand Special. Anyone got any more info for me? I paid $65.00 for this and I hope it's worth it.
  11. Thanks Steve. I kinda want to keep the stock one just in case something doesn't work out right then I can just put the stock stuff back in. I wonder could I just get one from a A-body Cutlass?
  12. I need all info for requirements of driveshaft to run my BOP 12 bolt rearend in my 71 with a TH350. Is there a vehicle that has a direct replacement? If anyone already have one set up and want to sell it let me know as well. Thanks.... Rodney

Thanks to 680HPStroker too.
  14. My engine is still all together. I am not doing this cam as we speak, since this is something that will be done at a later date. The stock spring diameter is what 1.250 right? My new springs are 1.254, the retainers Comp is recommending are for 1.250 spring diameter. So back to my question will the stock retainers physically handle the new spring pressure or is the metal inferior to the new Comp retainers?
  15. Thanks for your honest opinion, but what if I'm never ABLE to AFFORD to do anything to my car. Why do you call it cheap? Maybe this is the only way that I can do MY CAR. There are some people that don't have deep pockets and still want nice things. Is this not a forum where people who don't know things can come and ask questions. I was told once in life that "THE ONLY DUMB QUESTION IS THE ONE LEFT UNASKED". I have followed a few of your posts and it seems like you have a problem with questions, call this place, call that place!! I am going to ask question here at my First Gen family first because I feel that someone has been there, done that once before here. I am in no way, shape. or form cheap, I just do thing within my means and if that includes searching for the things I want at a lower cost then so be it. Not everyone can call and order a $1500 stall converter or spend $10.000 on a engine. Just look at my quote in my sig. It is the truth. I have a dream of where I want MY CAR to be when and if it ever gets done and that's just it MY DREAM!!!. Please do not take this as disrespect and I know you really mean well but if I could do this differently; Don't you think I would?
  16. Do you all think a shifter cable from a Corvette would fit a Monte? This is a NOS cable with year unknown.
  17. Thanh the stock retainer is whats on my engine now so I have to say they are single springs if that's what comes from the factory. The new springs are single with dampners and the same diameter as the stock ones. Here is the listing for the springs http://www.compperformancegroupstores.co...uct_Code=981-16 My question is; When I get the new springs put in, can I just simply reuse my existing stock retainers and locks or am I gonna have to buy new ones?
  18. Man those sure are pretty!!!! I have a coworker that opened up his own speed shop. He has a Nova that he built and he's gonna do my cam and everything for $200. I bought all my stuff new but not from a supplier cause I am on a budget without having a budget . But I have the cam, lifters, springs, and double roller timing chain. All COMP CAMS. I also got a 2500 stall converter. All together I spent $167.42. I am gonna just wait it out and see if I can get a deal on the correct COMP CAMS retainers and locks, since it's not gonna be done till later, but I couldn't pass up these things at such great prices. I am just gonna let my friend have it his way when it comes to doing the work. He knows what I want and he knows how to do it.
  19. Ok, I sent those springs back and got the actual springs that my cam calls for Comp Cam part# 981-16. These are just the springs alone hence my next question. Can I reuse the factory retainers and locks? Sorry about so many questions....... Rodney
  20. Correct me if I am wrong because this is all new to me, but the recommended springs for the cam that I have is part # 981-16 and the seat load is 105@ 1.700 and the Z28 springs seat load is 110@ 1.700 isn't this already more than what's needed. The recommended open load is 273@ 1.250 and the Z28 springs open load is 325@ 1.200. Is this going to be a problem? Oh and thanks for chiming in here guys!!!
  21. Hey guys will these valve springs work with my cam? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120728078974.com HERE ARE THE CAM SPECS: http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/cam-specs/Details.aspx?csid=108&sb=2
