I don't know if I want to put it back in the Monte now or wait till next spring. The Monte is probably going to be outside still for awhile.
  5. Wow Evan!! This is a small world!! Yes Chuck is building my engine!! That Nova is BADA$$ED!! I used to work at Advance Auto Parts with Chuck, right on Stearns and Lorain. He sold me the HEI distributor and installed it as well as my Weiand intake and Holley Carb. Very good guy and he knows what he's doing. Wow what did you see part of his Nova in the picture of my engine? That Nova is well known and one of a kind. I was trying to get him to send me a video so I could post it here in this thread. I'll be out that way maybe this weekend to pick up the engine and trans. I will keep you posted if I have time to stop by and see you and your Monte

  10. Great to see you back in the swing of things. Retirement UHMM Maybe you can come on back here. RVP???
  11. PICTURES ARE IN MY OTHER THREAD: GETTING ENGINE WORK DONE!!
  12. DAY TWO. LOOKING GOOD!!!! STILL WAITING ON THESE PUSHRODS
  13. I asked my builder to keep the pictures coming so I could document the progress as he goes. Here is the first picture. Hopefully there will be plenty more to come. He is going to clean the heads up and he said the lifter valley is clean.
  14. I'm getting the ones that's recommended for the cam. I bought everything that's associated with the specific cam. I thought I was doing it right.
  15. I delivered the engine today. I am still waiting on more pushrods to arrive any day now. I should have the engine back in a week or so. I will detail it while it's out. All of the gaskets are being replaced while he has it. My engine only has a little over 60k on it so this should be the refresh that it needs and should wake it up a little bit. I will keep you all posted. The tarp has been the Monte's blanket for a while now. There are two of them on her.
  16. Thanks Guys!! I think there was like four plugs and the starter wires. I think I can pull it off when it's time.
  17. Well I've finally got a day off so I thought why not pull the engine out of the Monte. It all went pretty good. I tried to pull it with the headers still attached so I had to sit it back in and unbolt them. Will I do it again probably not. I did it outside and the rain came so I stop for awhile, then the rain stopped and I got back on it. If I had a garage and some real tools it wouldn't have been so bad. After I got the engine out the first thing I did was checked the numbers and sure enough they matched the VIN . I will be delivering the engine tomorrow to my friend in Olmsted Falls for the cam, trans shift kit, and converter work. I'm going to put my dress up stuff on at this time too. Here are some pictures: THE NUMBERS ARE 111525595 K02 26 CGC. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE LETTERS MEAN SO MAYBE SOMEONE CAN DECIPHER THEM FOR ME
  18. OOOOOOOOHHWWWWEEEEEE!!! THAT'S BLINGING FOR SURE!!!
  19. Nice article and very nice story. Your car has very special meaning and purpose in your life. Congrats Larry!!
  20. Jered the front clip is still on but the hood an fenders are off. Originally Posted By: footballubet That's a call you'll need to make. The Monte is sitting outside the shop right now, but it will be inside later next week to be epoxy primered just in case we need to put it outside later on. The Monte is still going to be done slowly I just want to get the drivetrain done before painting. I will be transporting the engine with my Yukon.
  21. Mike I have everything already. I will be running a 3000 stall and 3:42 gears with 255/60/15 BFG's out back. Are you saying there will be no low end torque?
  22. Am I going to need a vacuum Pump? Also am I going to have a problem with the Compression Ratio? The cam needs 9:1
