    I have access to original 307 chevelle covers. I'll check them out.

    I just went through the same thing. I took out all the shims and it worked fine. It got even quieter after a few days. Mine was a rebuilt Delco from Advance Auto.

    I want to replace the aluminum corvette covers on my 70 with original. Are there differences in small block covers or do I need actual 70 Monte Covers?? If so does anyone have a pair for sale?
