Hey John, I am running the same as Rob has mentioned...Even though I have a Big Block you cant tell its aftermarket as it blends right in and has a Stock Oem appearance and I have no problem at all with either dist or Coil set. I peeled the pertronix sticker off the coil and it resembles the stock black appearance also with no decals.

I took the sticker off also

  2. Well if the fuel bowls leak then it will be hard to start because it will have to pump gas out of the tank till the bowls fill back up,and i don't think you have a q-jet if it has fuel bowls,if its off a 74 vett you have the Have the Holley quadrajet replacement carb its the Holley version of the quadrajet i have one of them and there easy to tune carbs there is no float adjustment there pre set its pretty much jets and A/F screws witch are easy to adjust if you have a vacuum gauge

  3. A TH400 actually has an electric switch for the kickdown. It is sometimes mounted on the carb linkage (in several different places) or can be mounted under the gas pedal (most common)

The modulator controls shift points on the 400 til WOT then the detent system takes over and actuates the electric kickdown.

The reason for this is because there isn't enough vacuum at WOT to operate the heavier 400 components.

WOT shifts without the kickdown hooked up will cause the clutches to slip and they will wear out before you want them to.

If I remember right there are aftermarket kits that replace the GM electric switch.

  4. Leaving the cable off or unhooked won't do any damage to a th-350. It only controlls the 3 to 2 kickdown.

Now on trannys that uses a TV (throttle valve) cable like the 700R4 and 200 4R, the cable controlls line pressure and kickdown, so it MUST be hooked up and adjusted right

You will just have to manually downshift it i dont run the kick down on my th350 but my motor is a well built 383 and i like to manually shift a lot

  5. You can try to retorque and use sealer and it may work but the question is how long will it work, retorqueing and sealer are a short term fix to a long term problem id plan on doing head gaskets soon

  6. I run them same springs (z28 springs) and my cam is the comp 268h with.454/.454 lift and the cam calls for 110-115 and the Z28 springs 110# @1.700" so you may need a bit more seat pressure
