I dont feel any vibration until I let off the gas. But after that its like clacking banging rattling etc

Hmm. It tends to be only when I let off the gas completely at once past 35. It wont do it if I ease off the gas. My buddy in the passenger seat thought it was coming directly in front of me as well.

strange noise clinking and rattling when letting off the gas when past 35ish mph and faster. Feels like its around front drivers side. Engine and exhaust seemed to get louder too after it started happening as well

My gas gauge isn't stuck at 1 tick below half mark. That's where it indicates a full tank . It went lower like normal after that. This morning though when I got driving it a bit it went back up to a half a tank mark again and begun to drop like normal again. At this time I should be at roughly 3/4 a tank. So far I've noticed it wont go past the 1/2 a tank mark. Hard to explain but I hope that helps clarify the problem a tad bit more

Well filled up my tank for the first time today. Awesome right! as now im starting to drive her to work. Well seems my fuel gauge says I have a full tank at 1 tick below the 1/2 a tank full mark. Any ideas how to get it to read correctly?

yea id like to know as well. i might even consider 5 speed as I'm just eager for a clutch next to my brake petal haha

id love to leave the bench. i did forgot to add to my previous post i already have a steering column i got from Craigslist because i knew i was going to do the swap. one stop shop stuff would deff be convenient. hunting down parts is a nightmare, so minus that easy peasy. I was thinking 5/6 speed would be cool for the extra gears for the highway but keeping somewhat stock appearance would be nice since my car has all matching #'s. its just no fun to drive an auto.

Benchseat. And just got the car so I haven't had much time to collect anything yet. So starting fresh, making a list and gonna start looking for parts. I'll be helping a buddy of mine out with the swap as he's done it on his chevelle. What better place to get a correct parts list than here haha.

I have a 72 402 with auto 3 speed and I believe the 400 tranny what is needed for the 4 on the floor conversion and rough estimate on what it will cost me. Thanks guys!

I'm aware this thread is old but. get in good with a painter and make buddy buddy with em. getting all of mine done for 700. this includes me helping getting it down to bare metal and media blasting.
