  2. Nice! You have a great collection, thanks for sharing.

    My older brother has/had a red 1963 TR3B.

My younger brother and I did a low $ restoration on it around 1973. It's still is in the family still red and just totally restored.

  3. My 350 4bbl had a leak at the seal. The dampener had a groove worn into it. I got a sleeve, put the dampener in the freezer and the sleeve in the oven and the sleeve slid right on. new seal, problem solved.

I had a similar problem with my right rear axle. I got an offset seal to fix it.

  4. Way overboard question but does or did you vehicle ever have a trailer wire harness added?

I have seen what it can do to the lights....

Another question, do all the brake light / turn signals work and are all the same brightness?

I saw a guy used an 1156 bulb where an 1157 dual filament bulb was needed. This caused some big problems.

Totally off subject but fun story, I think. A customer pulled in to the Ford dealership where I was a service advisor with a pick up saying his brake lights keep blowing fuses. I took a look and he did have a trailer harness with a plug in, covered, connector. The cover was open and the socket was packed full of SNOW!!! Good times back in 1973.

  5. Great question. I just bought some 10W-30 oil from O'Reilly and a K&N filter from Advance auto parts

I found it hard to locate a place that even sells regular oil, all now are synthetic and with 167,000 miles on my 71 engine I am too scared to switch.

Nice!  Love that detail- what is the material on the seat and seat back?

Cloth on the pleated seat bottom and seat back areas and vinyl and plastic on the other areas.

  7. My battery is dead, I charged it and it started then several weeks later it is dead again.

I have a SEARS DIEHARD GOLD GP 78 that is almost 8 years old, but there aren't any SEARS stores in my area.

    Suggestions?

I don't want to spend a ton to have an original DELCO battery. Black is nice, not red or yellow.......

    Suggestions???

  8. I remember driving a 3 speed on the column, first gen Monte to the parking lot when I worked for Russ Milne Ford in the 70's. I never saw it again, I wish I had looked at it some.

How many in the club are there?

  9. Welcome Leo!

    Looking good!!

I see the picture of the rear axle and the missing gas tank. I wanted to mention how on my 71 350 4bbl when I replaced all the original small fuel / vapor lines at the fuel tank one had a very small blue plastic restrictor (INSIDE THE HOSE) that I almost threw out! Here is a picture. If you have removed all the original emission stuff, it may not matter at all but I wanted to share my experience.

    Enjoy!

  10. Remove all the light bulb sockets "twist", then remove the screws that hold the printed circuit to the steel IP base. The circuit board should come off then replace it with the new one, carefully replace the bulbs and screws. I don't remember any problems with mine. I DO remember the tiny fragile shift indicator cable that I almost broke several times. Years ago I swapped my stock IP in my 71 for one with a tach and gauges. That was a big job for me!  Here are pictures I hope they help. I remember the small nut would NOT loosen up so I held the end tight with small vise grip pliers so I didn't break it off! The clock had a small piece of tape the I replaced to keep it from shorting out when it touched the circuit board! I don't think the headlight switch had to be removed. (off topic but...) I remember reading that some replacement H/L switch's don't have the correct number of terminals and will cause problems. 7 are required on my 71 Monte.
