  1. I saw this on Facebook "BUMPER" many times and started to fill the serial number in, for my wife's stolen 73 Cougar.

    I didn't continue, incase it's a scam.

Anyone here use it or try it or know about it?

  2. Every time I fill up my 71 Monte, I will think of this! 🤣

What is the lowest cost per gallon of gasoline you remember filling up your Monte with? I remember $0.19 !!

  3. Old Snow blower snowday?

I got mine from my Father in-law in the 1980's. It's from 1967 I believe. No safety systems at all and it's for sale (You pick it up) $999.00.  🤣

  4. WOW, TCS! I remember it well because I removed it all from my 71 350 4bbl, in May of 1971. I have run ported since then.

My brother in-law worked at Chevrolet in Warren Michigan at the Tech Center, in the engine department and he is the one who suggested I set it up this way.

I had lots of fun hanging with him and his friends.

  5. FYI, don't use solid copper spark plug wires with PERTRONIX ignition system or that will cause it to fail!

Probably nobody here uses solid copper spark plug wires but I wanted to pass this along.

  6. Looking Great!! Looking at the taillight areas reminded me of when I had my 71 (non SS) repainted in the 80's the area used as a reflector for the light bulbs was sprayed black, like my car. When all finished I noticed the taillights and turn signals did not look as bright as they did in the past. I removed the lenses, saw the black paint, sprayed that area white and the problem was solved. Just thought I would mention it for anyone else who is interested. I wonder if silver was used when built?  I remember spraying flat black on the lower area of my black 71 Monte. You can't really tell since my car is all black, but I tried to keep most things correct.

  7. It's Thanksgiving 2023 and our family is all here for dinner. My oldest Grandson has his learners permit so I let him drive my 71 Monte Carlo. We had a beautiful day here in Michigan so I went to start the Monte and the battery went dead. I attached jumper cables to it and it started right up. I see that it is charging so I backed it out of the garage and let Evan take over. He drove me all over the area for almost a hour. We had a great time. Evan said the steering is a bit loose and the brakes require more pressure to stop the car than he is used to. This was such a great thing for us remembering back to when we drove him to the Woodward Dream Cruise every summer. Picture from 2009 when he was very young and now:
