Someone posted a link for the GM Photo Store on-line last month. I returned several times and wrote them yesterday. I got an e-mail back today. Here it is:
Good afternoon, Bruce!
Thank you for your feedback on the GM PhotoStore website. We realize we
haven't posted very many shots of the early 1970's Monte Carlos, at least
not yet. When we launched the site, we chose about 1,000 of our most
popular images, but we couldn't include very many shots of the same GM
vehicle the first time around. We will be refreshing the site with new
images each month, so please check the site for your Chevy engine and Monte
Carlo images soon!
Thanks again!

Let's keep checking and report back if they post any new FGMC pics.

If anyone else has factory cruise control and it stops working, this may help.
I added a used A/C Delco Cruise control unit to my Monte about 13 years ago. The guy said it was for a Monte and it does fit and work (most of the time). Over the past 13 years or so it stops working after 2 to 3 summers of driving usually first time out in the spring. What I have found is slight carbon deposits or dirt get inside the unit, it sticks and won't engage. I remove it, dissemble and clean it with Alcohol, (DO NOT LUBE) re-assemble and it works.

MONTEGUY,
You have mail with a picture. It's all I have about floor shifters. Hope it helps.

What about the lower control arms "oval bushing = SB round = BB".
Perhaps that's not a proven fact.

My friend bought one new in 71 and it only had one inlet to the air cleaner. He had A/C and the left snorkel would have hit the compressor. Don't know about an SS with out A/C but I doubt GM would have spent the extra money.

David,
I love your quote about being able to walk in and order a Monte.
As an original owner I remember that day like it was yesterday. Salesman was a friend of my Dad's and thought I was wasting money ordering the 4 barrel and sport stering wheel. The electric trunk opener was ok he thought. I couldn't afford A/C or the vinyl roof but had to have AM/FM Stereo and the G70 x 15 tires and rally wheels.
All the days of delivering the Detroit news and cutting grass were worth it!

My original ones were both clear as well as the replacements with amber bulbs.
