I would have to agree with thicker oil. My 72 had 10/30 in it and sounded like a typerighter and oil light would come on when hot . Put 10/40 oil and sounds like a different engine and no light.good luck

It probably is the window but also check that your firewall cowl sides are not stuffed with leaves and dirt. There are vents that can allow water to get in if they are filled up with stuff.

Very cool to see how the club came together. Thanks

Just an FYI. 70 upper bracket that goes over the valve cover looks different than 71-72. Not sure if your going for the correct look or not.

Wow people are nuts!! I've seen all the work you have done on the website.just in parts is way over asking price. Hope it all works out and it finds a home where someone can appreciate the work you and your dad have done........or you can always finish it at a later date. I have always found that when people insult me when I go to sell a car it is very motivational to finish it.

Someone sent me this picture that was posted today. As many of you know Old bridge township Raceway park N.J.was closed suddenly last year. Many had hopes and heard rumors of it reopening.....but looks like the end of an era is here. I myself spent many years sometimes three days a week there racing with my dad , brother's and many great friends. After seeing this picture today I feel like an old friend is gone. Thanks to the older Nap family for the great times and to the younger Naps I hope the money was worth it........ RIP Raceway park. Thanks

I know that SS cars all had black steering columns no matter what color the interior color was . My question is about our 71 402 4 speed car that my brother and I are restoring the car has a dark saddle interior that someone dyed black. What color should the steering column and the wheel be. Our 72 small block car has a dark saddle interior but column is black.I have heard big block cars would have it painted same color as interior but not sure.

I have always used steel lines in the past but on my station wagon I used stainless steel. Had issues with the stainless leaking after use ,had to keep checking them to make sure they stayed tight. After a while they have stayed tight and have not had an issues since. I guess to make a long story short is if you go stainless make sure you really tighten them up.

The trans is not the numbers matching trans. The Vin on the trans is built for a Baltimore car and the date code don't work out for the build date on the car. Still a nice rare car with a great color combination. Good luck

I have used both inline tube and right stuff. Both make good product but like inline tube customer service better.

Good luck and we'll wishes for a speedy recovery

I believe that they had just the turn down tail pipes

From what I see trans was built Aug of 69. Most of the time 6 month prior to car is correct . Does the Vin that is stamped match the car the 402890 should be the last 6 of the Vin. Still a nice rare find.good luck

I have used that also and it will work for what you need it for

You could also measure how deep the old spring pocket are. I changed the control arms on my station wagon and the new control arms made it sit like a 4x4 with the same springs. The pocket on the new control arms were shorter and that made the car sit a lot higher. I have since went with a coilover front spring that can be adjusted for ride hight. Good luck
