They remake the seats already covered and ready to bolt in but they are over $2k for the pair. Most of the GM A-body from 68-72 used the same buckets just different material.

Maybe the person that told you this information is a "Chevelle" guy because the dash is different from a SS and a non SS on Chevelle's. The Chevelle SS dash is actually a Monte dash without the wood grain. As far as I know all the Monte dashboards are the same except in 72 came with the seat belt light.

I don't think you car would have the double hump heads. They were usually found on engines rated over 350hp. Look on the pad under the alternator there should be numbers that will help. You can also look on the back of the block near distributor for date and casting numbers.good luck

I got a new contact for my sport wheel from the parts place.

I agree use the engine and trans but after you "modify" the rear ,you will probably have to shorten the housing so you will need axles. The posi units are not very strong .

Great to know thanks

What ever holes you can get to the back side use copper or brass block behind the holes it helps to keep the heat down and blow through from the welder and weld won't stick to it. I used an old brass cabinet hinge on my holes worked great. Good luck

This helps the late 71 tie bar has the 6261996 bar and by the post above is probably correct. The early car has 3984277 that is the part number listed for 71. Thanks you learn something new about Monte's every day here !!!!

Now to complicate things!!! Looked at our 71 4 speed car has the correct 71 style tie bar, car is a Baltimore built in Jan. Of 71 so it's an early car. Then looked at our other low mileage 71 also a Baltimore built car late 71 June of 71. The late built car has the 72 style tie bar. Is it possible they started using 72 parts early?the first picture is of the early car and second is of the late car.

I looked at my 71 and 72 for the difference. The core supports look to be the same except for the hole on a 72 for the marker light socket. The brackets that go from the upper tie bar to the bumper filler that the headlight bezel srew into(body colored part)are different.the pictures are from the back side of core support the first one is 71 the second is 72.

Great idea.like how you covered it ,well done

It's not a big difference between the two tires one is a little taller and wider. In a radial size I would use a 225 70r15 it is equal to a G70 15. Good luck
