If you want to use an AN fitting you would need one that has 3/8 NPT to -6.just an fyi if your car is a small block car it has a 5 /16 metal fuel line so the -6 hose might not fit tight over the metal line.good luck

I thought maybe you got the picture knobs when you ordered a certain option in the interior like light group package.

That's an odd place for a hole to be cut not much in there that you would need to get at. Maybe hiding his cigarettes from his wife .lol

Just wondering why some 1971 Monte Carlo have the dash knobs that are plain and some have the picture on them(headlights, radio, cig lighter etc). Was there an option you ordered then you got the picture knobs? thanks

Your car did not have a vinyl top. The first 78 is for the lower body color and the second is for the upper color. Tom is correct that if it had a top it is usually shown with a letter. My 71 has a double code like yours code 19 19 =black upper and lower, car is a Baltimore built car.

I have hooker headers on my 72 small block A/C car. They fit great and no issue with A/C box on the firewall. Good luck

Sometimes the word NOS is used very loosely. Yes the part may be New Old Stock but it may have been made in 1978 ,yes it is NOS but is not the exact correct one for say 1971. Most parts that were sold" over the counter" at a dealer were a lot of the times second and third runs of a part or even something that was a blem.

A 74 Olds did not come with a 12 bolt but may have had a 12 bolt custom made for it .It will not bolt into the 70 Monte without changing the control arm mounts. The 74 has different mounts for the control arms and shock mounts. Hope this helps good luck

I think it should be a black plain knob. GM part #3992308.

Just wanted to tell everyone that has a trailer for their pride and joy to take a look at it over the Long Winter months. My brother and I were on our way home last week from getting our newest Monte a 71 402 auto. We were about 10 miles from home when the U bolts on one of our trailer axles broke, luckily no one got hurt and we were able to limp it home with some not so good side of the highway fixing. It makes for a good story that we can laugh about now but it could have been much worse. So take the time and look at your towing equipment this winter. Here is a picture of our 6th first gen Monte on our trailer.

Take a good look at the rest of the wheel well. I had the same problem on my 72 had to replace a lot of the area around the brace (once i ground down the area i put a flash light from underneath ) and it looked like i was looking at the pretty stars in the night sky with all the pin holes it had LOL. I also had to replace the brace. I did fix it but looking back on it now i would have replaced the whole wheel tub. I hope yours is better than what i found good luck.

Hi I will be taking apart a 72 Custom unfortunately .Car has major rust issued ,it is a small block Custom. Let me know if you would still like the info on the car for your data base.

I would go with the AMD ones. I just installed full quaters, rear deck panel, panel behind rear window and outer rear fender wells on my 72 Monte all were AMD and fit great.

Welcome !!! As for the original tires it depends on what wheel your car came with. I own two 72 Monte's and one is a hub caps car so has a 15x6 wheel and came with h78x15 white wall tires. The other was ordered with 15x7 rally wheels and had G70x15 white walls. If you can find the build sheet it would tell you for sure. Good luck with your Monte
