  1. Hey, I'm in college. I'll use that easy button whenever I can!
  2. Actually found exactly what I was looking for. A blank insert ( Linky to picture )
  3. What thickness did you use for the insert? and how did you create the edges for the corners and how difficult was it to bend?
  4. I know I seen that aluminum dash insert but are their any other options that anyone has used that maintained AC vents in the car? I am hoping to just find a replacement for the woodgrain insert and reuse pre existing holes for head lamp switch and seat belt warning lamp(not that import).
  5. Looks good! What kind of spindles did you go with?
  6. For AC if your just looking at brackets and everything a full pulley assembly from a 97 vette should work and comprared to "billet/chrome" pulley kits they sell would be the most cost effective
  7. That is perfect, thanks Rob. Should have her running by tomorrow night the latest.
  8. I am looking for a diagram for the wiper motor diagram. I remember the two prong connectors on the motor having two individual connectors on them one being a green wire (mine has a white connector cover not sure if that is factory or not). Would like to see if I have it all right.
  9. Yeah Rick, that is quite a collection you have. My dad had a galaxie back in the day and we're looking for his cornet at the moment.
  10. Crazy weight difference it made. I think I may eventually do that.
  11. I wouldn't think you can would scrape with 1" springs. My drop spindles are coming in today and their a 2" drop from stock. Unless you have extremely long headers.
  12. This really isn't my first time adjusting valves and when I first rebuilt the engine got a video and book by box wrench that walks you through the entire build. The only concern was weather or not it was likely I cracked the piston. BUT! Bore scope came in today and was able to inside #1 and #3 and both looked fine just had a little carbon on each one. Was going to look at all 8 but the batteries I had used died so will check the rest before or after work tomorrow. I do appricate the advice on adjusting the valves though, will always come in handy on the next time I do it! Will update on the final findings tomorrow.
  13. Yes it was 1/4 with oil, and 1/2 without but will double check. SO after you adjust you only turn the crank 90 deg? I never really pay attention I just wait until I see the compression stroke.
  14. We did continue to adjust valves and turned it over a few times and never heard a sound again. Procedure would be: Set #1 cylinder to tdc, then turn over the engine until rocker arm comes back down on compression stroke. Then lift push rod up and down while threading the nut and once we reach 0 lash. Then turn the nut a quarter of a turn(engine had oil). Then move on to the next cylinder which is 8
  15. Engine was rebuilt 4 years ago everything being replaced. Other then looking for a telescope to look the spark plug hole to look through the spark plug hole any other suggestions?
  16. Turning over the engine getting ready to adjust rocker arms and my father decides to come out and help (at the ending stages of all the work I have been doing) and he wants to adjust them. Turning the engine over I hear a ping from what I assume is a valve that was sticky. Go on to turn it over and don't hear the sound again. Frustrated at this point because my farther freaks out and claiming the only solution is to pull the motor apart again to check to see to see what he thinks is now a cracked piston. I have cast pistons and I just put the engine back in the car. Before I make time in my crazy schedule this week to take apart this engine (again) anyone have some insight?
  17. Didn't initial ad say it had a fiberglass front end? Curious to know how much of it is actually fiberglass fenders and hood; anything else?
  18. Main thing is make sure your hose is compatible with the oil or whatever fluid you you use it with. 15' Aeroequip AQP Stainless Steel Braided Hose (-6) (PN: FCA0615) (4) Aeroequip AN to NPT fitting 1/4 to -6 (PN: FBE2013) 90° Aeroequip AN fitting -6 (PN: FBE4032) 45° Aeroequip AN fitting -6 (PN: FBE4022) Straight AN fitting -6 (PN: FBE1012) 90 degree and 45 are for the radiator connections Straight fittings are for the transmission connections
  19. I just converted my hardline to braided with npt to an adapters. I have the complete list still you want to go over it. I used aeroequip but their are lots of company's making braided hose
  20. Yeah that ac is weighs A LOT. I removed all the factory AC and as soon as I took the compressor out I seen the car lift maybe an inch(on old springs).
  21. You think that's weird, what caused me to rebuild my engine in high school was a broken rocker
  22. What factors does it depend on? I have a 80 gph mechanical pump 5.7 to 8 psi from a long time ago that I never used.
  23. So when I plug the line, would I need a fuel pressure regulator?

    Fuel Pump

So I have been looking at replacing my fuel pump and have came across most aftermarket ones only come with what I am am assuming is an inlet from the gas tank and outlet that feeds to the carb. Our stock pumps have a third which I think is a return line or maybe a vapor return. What would have to be done to to switch to the two port fuel pump from our stock. Would capping the return at the gas tank be fine? Main reason of wanting to do this, is to avoid clearance issues with March Pulleys which has a mid mount compressor
