I got mine from my local GM Dealer. They even shipped them from back east for me. They were $3 Canadian each. Good Luck

I have heard from other sources that the wider belt molding was an option on the 70 & 71. This 70 has this molding but I'm not sure if they took it off of a 72.

When they say "A-body" I always thought that referred to the body shell and not the frame. As we know, the body of a Monte is basically the same as the Chevelle and other A-bodies. Many A-bodies even share the same trunk lid. Also, I took a good look at a Grand Prix last year and it has the same roof line and back window as our Montes and other A-bodies. I'm still confused as to what the "A-body" refers to.

straightening is the thing I dread doing. I sent mine back twice and it still isn't straight. They claim to have perfect molds but that isn't always true. I sent mine back twice and it still isn't streight. Get a few opinions from people who experienced the various shops in your area. The place I took it to did awesome chroming though. The local parts guy says he's seen a lot of bad chroming jobs on the cars he's parted out. Beware.

My standard ones do not match my sandalwood interior, they're black with a black plastic buckle.

I beleive the chrome ones are the deluxe seat belts. I personally prefer the plastic ones. The chrome ones get sooo hot in the summer sun.

I went to a automotive paint supplier that matches paint colours. They did a great job for my pillars and other interior parts.

My pillars are a lighter shade than my steering column. I have an all original sandalwood interior.

I also have original rallys (7") but my spare is a 6" rally.

It's a toggle switch. It mounts between the radio and the steering column. There is a front and a back peice that get screw together to mount on the dash. Check out the "Photo Gallery" on my web site for my picture of the dash. I've got the defogger. Hope this helps.

I agree.

Montefraser: The back seat can have 3 people. Therefore, a bench seat car can have 6 passengers while the bucket seat car can have 5 passengers.

I use the Chevrolet Chassis Service manual. There is a lot of detail for a specific year. The chassis service manual (1970) has the Chevrolet (Biscayne, Impala etc.), Chevelle, Monte Carlo, Nova, and 1969 Corvette. I have no idea why it covers a 69 Corvette. The Camaro, I assume, had a later edition since the car came out half way through the year.
This is off track, but there's a couple of interesting notes in the chev manual.
-It lists a Monte Carlo Custom Coupe and a Convertible. It even lists a body code of 13867 for the convertible. There are no other specs on a convertible though.
-It says it is a 5 passenger vehicle with bench and a 4 passenger vehicle with buckets. This does not make sense.
-It lists both 400 engines as 400 cu. in..

I had the same problem with my sandalwood interior. I ordered the wrong colour package tray once. Everything is a different colour. I'm not sure but I think the dash pad is light tan.

This was my windshield before I got it fixed:

The water would come in and run down the inside of the windshield interior pillar and drip out the bottom. The previous owner tried to seal it by putting stuff in the crack between the chrome trim and the body at the top corner. This did not work at all. See my body shop photos on my web site for the after pics.

Maybe if the car was already a dark colour, they didn't paint the rocker panels. Light colours don't look very good behind the rocker trim.

I used semi-gloss to paint mine last year. It turned out really nice. I did a lot of coats since the rocks are gonna hit there. I plan to reapply a coat or two every two years to cover those chips.

What do I use to seal the Casing to the firewall (engine side). There was some type of silicone or something before. I'm not sure what type to use. Thank You.
