farmall
Hey guys, I recently did the 4 speed conversion for my 72 monte. The speedometer cable I got from Ground Up was 80 inches long and had a screw connector on each end. (I am not sure if it was too long because I didn't take it out of the package). The cable I took out had a screw connector on the transmission end but a push lock type connector on the speedometer end. Ground up says that they have one with the correct ends but it is 100 inches long. I feel that is going to be too long. Does anyone have a source for a cable that will work? LS5
You can order one from The Parts Place Inc or Year One. The 4speed cable from a 1968-1972 Chevelle will work the same on our cars. The Tranny end will have the threaded collar on it and the dash will have the bevelled collar so the lock retainer will clip onto it.. Darren. farmall
I ended up getting a cable from Year One, part number CS6. It is 80 inches long. It could be shorter and still work.
