Guest
I searched the forum for info on a tranny swap and did not find any info. Can someone tell me what parts I will need to install a 4 speed in my monte? It has a turbo 350 behind a 350. I have a 454 ready to go between the fenders and am not wanting to use the TH350. I am able to get a muncie 4 speed from a friend and I was wondering what it would take to install. Do I need a pedal set-up out of a chevelle or can I use something else. Any detailed help would be appreciated very much.
Guest
Original Parts Group has complete clutch pedal assemblys which includes "everything". There may also be other parts suppliers that have these complete kits. Andreas
Did you read these? http://www.firstgenmc.com/ubb/Forum4/HTML/000013.html http://www.firstgenmc.com/ubb/Forum4/HTML/000027.html http://www.firstgenmc.com/ubb/Forum4/HTML/000073.html http://www.firstgenmc.com/ubb/Forum4/HTML/000035.html One thing you might have to change besides what is mentioned in above posts is your exhaust headers. They could hit the clutch Z-bar.... ------------------ 71 Monte 454 HO 5- Speed "FULMNTE" 86 Monte LS "The Gray Mouse" FOR SALE! 01 Camaro V6 Andreas' Monte Carlo Site Member NMCOA, FGMCC (Event Coordinator) ------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------ "It ain't a car if it's not a Monte"
Guest
for anyone who is not yet aware the frame bracket for the z-bar is being reproduced by www.musclecarsonly.com under the factory part #3972641R for $19.95. appears to be a nice piece and looks like the part in the factory assembly manual. haven't tried it yet as the car is apart for bodywork, looks right though.also 4 - speed console top with woodgrain inserts and shift emblem #0748650 for $59.95. alot cheaper than opg or npd each of which sell the top plate for as much or more and require you to buy the woodgrain and shift emblem seperately.
