monte70car Posted December 30, 2008 Share Posted December 30, 2008 what are some signs of a cd-rom going dead? been messing around with my niece's desktop and i cant get the cd-rom to open or to boot. even manual opening the rom it still wont work. its a factory compaq cd-rom. i do have a spare desk top i can borrow a rom out of. monte70car Posted December 31, 2008 Author Share Posted December 31, 2008 well i did the next best thing bought down one of my spares computers to put in her room until a new cd-rom comes in. i know parts from a laptop wont fit but i did have two spare desktop upstairs.
