Converter stall question. Will this work for me?

Hey guys I'm looking at bowties 2004r trans for the chevelle. I found one local to me thats new never installed. It comes with a 2500 converter. My camshaft is a XE284H.

Here's the specs: http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/cam-specs/Details.aspx?csid=397&sb=2

I know this calls for a 2800+ stall. What I'm asking is can I get away with a little tighter stall and still behave nicely.

rest of the set-up is

468 CI

10.25 Compression

XE284H Camshaft

Eddy Air Gap Intake

Aluminum Heads 320cc, 2.25/1.88 valves

Holley 850 Carb

3.73 Posi Rear. 28" tall tire

I have a TH350 in the car with a 2800-3200 Stall Converter.

Will this work?

Thanks everyone.

I think it will work just fine. I would run it. Doubt you would even notice the difference between a 2800 and a 2500. You should have plenty of torque. The good, high stall 200-4r converters with heavy duty multi disc clutches run $1000.

Thats what this guy local to me is selling his for. 2004r trans with 2500 converter. Im awaiting the specs on his trans and a copy of the paperwork before I decide. I just needed to know if everything pans out ok. I could run that converter. Thanks so much for replying back.
