I need to order a replacement steering box for my 72 but Summit shows two different codes and I'm not sure which is the correct one. Casting number on mine is 781245 so I don't know if I have to order AAZ-27-6537 (3-3/4 to 4-1/4 turns lock to lock) or AAZ-27-6509 (2-1/2 to 3 turns lock to lock). Thanks in advance. Andreas Posted July 15, 2011 Share Posted July 15, 2011 AAZ-27-6509 is what is called a 'fast ratio' steering box. AAZ-27-6537 will give you the stock steering feel. When I installed the fast ratio box on my Monte, it made a totally different car out of it! I would definitely go with the fast ratio box...
