Will these work for me? 71 Monte. Headers, Intake, Holley 650. Automatic, Stock 350/350 going with 3:42 rear gears. Street cruiser, occasional shifter.

Looks good to me. I have heard good things about this grind as an all around street/ cruiser cam with a nice little lope, if that's what your looking for. I ran this comp grind years ago in a stock rebuild with a Edelbrock Performer intake and a Barry Grant 625 Road demon carb with 3:36 gears. It was quite snappy on the street but less cam than what you are looking at

The springs that you listed will require you to have your heads machined for the larger diameter. the suggested spring is CCA-981-16. Why not go with the whole kit if you want that cam cam, lifters, springs, retainers, keepers.

This guy had all of those items for sale for $150 brand new in boxes and I call him this morning while he was at work, I asked him to call me as soon as he left work to pick them up from him. I called him back and he said someone was already on their way to get them frown. Oh well.....

OK this is what I got Comp Cam Mutha Thumper 12-601-4 CS 287th 107. Lift 490/475 Items needed new Valve springs and at least a 2500 Stall. Correct? Will my 3:42 gears be suffice?
