Kane Posted September 5, 2012 Share Posted September 5, 2012 I have a 1970 monte carlo with 12 bolt rear end 2:73 gears its not a posi traction I wondering is there another rear end that I can replace it with that will bolt right up without having to fabrícate anything to make it work. gprimm Posted September 8, 2012 Share Posted September 8, 2012 Should cost a couple hundred to have it set up, plus the oost of the bearings. The posi unit I recommend is the Tru Trac, just don't use posi additive to it; it is like sand to it. Straight gear oil. You can buy a used Eaton GM type posi and have it rebuilt at a shop.
