Front shock installation

Recommended Posts

Anyone have pictures of what their front shocks look like installed?

I'm trying to see if I need to get more hardware for installation than what came in the shock box. Plus the proper way the bushings and washers go on. I thought I had pictures of mine before I pulled them, but no luck.

DJ for the bushing and washer at the top of the shock it should have a washer then a rubber bushing shock stud slides up through the frame then another rubber bushing then washer and nut. As for the bottom you have two bolts that screw up into a capture nut on the lower control arm.

Great! Thanks. Looks like I'm just missing the capture nuts - the hardware in the shock box included 2 washers, 2 bushings, 2 nuts, and 2 bolts.

Should there be a nut on the backside of the bottom washer/bushing?

Nope should have a stopping point for the bottom washer to rest on.I borrowed this picture from a truck website 100_0796.jpg the white disc is what the bottom washer sits on then the rubber bushing with step part facing up.
