  1. Can you believe it is already June 1st? I know it is hard to believe here in Pittsburgh. This unusually cool/cold weather is getting real old, it was in the 40’s here this morning and the furnace is still coming on instead of the air conditioning. So, seeing that it is now June, this means it is also the same month as our combined 2025 Carlisle Mini-Meet/2025 Eastern Meet!!! So for some of us it means we need to get our Monte projects completed in time to head to Carlisle. With the cancellation of the Ron Tevis 2025 Eastern Meet in Somerset, due to the tornado’s, Ron had to make a hard decision to cancel this event. Due to the death and destruction in that area it was the right decision. That same weekend, since I already had the Carlisle Mini-Meet plans intact we decided to move the Eastern Meet to Carlisle, PA and make this a combined event. Thank You to Ron for all he did in the planning of the Somerset Eastern Meet. I had planned to arrive on Thursday but with the addition of the Eastern Meet I may be heading to Carlisle on Wednesday, June 18th to firm up our plans with our caterer for our Group Buffet Dinner on Saturday evening and our Thursday night Pizza Party. I will attach a copy of the Group Buffet Dinner flier to this email/message. You will also get this flier in your registration packet when you check in with us when you arrive. When you check in we will also be collecting money for both the Thursday Pizza Party and the Group Buffet Dinner. I ask you to please have the exact amount ready when you arrive. The cost per person for each of these are as follows: · Pizza Party will be $6.00 per person in you party · Group Buffet Dinner will be $21.00 per person in your party. We have also prepared an itinerary. I will also attach a copy of this itinerary to this email/message. You will see that we will have a lot to offer. Ron had planned a little game of guess who this member is which is a cassette we will play of a recording of one of our members and the person who guesses correctly who this member is will receive a prize. We will also be hosting a show field seminar on gas gauge troubleshooting. The club officers will also have a few items for sale in the club canopy. All of these activities will in or at the Show Field Canopy. Hotel activities and special things will be as follows: · The hotel will rope off a large section of their parking lot specifically for our club cars · The hotel will have available an area in our parking area for our members to wash their cars · Thursday arrivals, please check in with us to get your meet registration items, pay for your pizza party and pay for your dinner (We would like to get all of the Thursday arrivals checked in that same day so the planners (Meet Heads) have a chance to enjoy as many Carlisle Events activities · Each evening will be bench racing in our club parking area. Bring your chairs, snacks and beverages · Thursday evening Pizza Party will be held in the hotel hospitality/breakfast area (Please bring your own beverages · Thursday we will go as a group to the show field to decorate our club canopy. If we have enough people helping with this activity we should be able to knock this out withing an your Following our Saturday evening group dinner, will return to the hotel to present our club awards and will have some door prizes to give away. We would like to do this immediately following our return to the hotel so if you are trailering your car please do this trailer loading following the awards and door prizes. I think we have most members cell phone numbers. This is good because Joe Tedesco is setting up a “Group Text” and we will use text messaging to send members any updates during the meet so when you arrive and check in with us please verify with us the numbers we have are all cell phone numbers. We are looking forward to seeing everyone. If you have any questions please feel free to email, text or call me. You can also leave me a PM on the club website. 3. Steve, this may be a stupid questions but I will ask it anyway. I really like those ramps. So my questions is this... Once you have the car to the level you want it, can it be locked into that position and the two lines be disconnected. My concern if you can't remove the lines by way of a quick disconnect at the ramp or the foot pump it it may be hard to get under it from the front without the hoses getting in the way. rob
  4. Welcome aboard the boards Dwight. That is a very nice and very original Monte. Don't worry about it not being a highly optioned car, look at it this way, the more options, the more that could go wrong. The good thing about many of the older cars, before a lot of computer driven stuff is they are a bit easier to work on. On my two older cars I can pretty much just dive in and work on them without a lot of assistance. For things I am unsure of on the older ones and on the newer ones I have found viewing a number of "You-Tube" videos. I never just watch just one because there are some out there that just are not that good. In a few weeks we will be holding a large meet in Carlisle, PA. We currently have 52 members registered with me. It is a great way to meet a large number of our members in the same place at the same time and see a large number of first gen Monte's. We would love to see you become a full fledged dues paying member of the club and join us at this large meet. We would love to see you and your beautiful 72 Monte there. rob
  5. Rob.... from one Rob to another, welcome aboard the boards and also I see you have become a full fledged dues paying member of the club and being a supporter of the club. Just in case nobody has mentioned, WE LOVE PICTURES. Just purchased pictures, in progress pictures, new project pictures, and the completed (we know they are never completed) pictures. I see you are from Salisbury, NC. There is still time to make plans to come to our 2025 Eastern Meet being held in Carlisle, PA June 19th to the 22nd. We would love to meet you. As of right now I have 52 members signed up with me to attend. It is a great way to meet a large number of our members and see a lot of First Generation Monte Carlo's all in one place at the same time. Please shoot me an email at rob29ford@aol.com if you want some more information. rob
  6. Looks too much like a Chevelle grill. rob
  7. Oops, I Dennis has an immediate use for them I will pass. rob
  8. Kevin, if I can fit them in my car I would be interested in them. rob
  9. Steve, if a color like that grows on you you may want to see a doctor real fast. A color like that growing anywhere on you could be an indication of an infection. rob

    ss registry?

If you retire what would you do to earn money to buy up all the Monte's in the world. rob
  11. A sampling of some of the cars tonight at a local car cruise rob

    ss registry?

I have told you before, you should have never retired, you have had one health issue after another since you retired. You need to go back to work. Maybe you are sick this time due to getting out of the hot tub and stepping into this late winter like temperatures. rob
  13. So, another TV Show not showing any respect for our First Gen Monte's. rob

    Back at it

Sorry to hear about your heart attack and glad you are feeling better. Like others have said, don't over-do it... ask me how I learned that. Great job on the bracing to keep everything in alignment. Time spent on that will pay off for sure. Keep up the great work. Thanks for sharing your pictures. Things like that help others. rob
  15. That is just the opposite of what I thought. Not saying that is wrong but I am basing my thought on 2 things. One of those thoughts is my Model A Ford has a vacuum driven windshield wiper motor and the more load on the engine the less vacuum it produces. When going up a hill or accelerating there is almost no vacuum produced and if it is raining and the wiper is turned on I have to let off the gas so the wiper arm can wipe. The other reason I felt a load reduces the vacuum is the more things you add that causes a load has people adding a vacuum pump or a vacuum storage canister for extra vacuum. Again, I may be using reversed thinking. rob
  16. I hope to have an Itinerary for the Carlisle Mini-Meet/2025 Eastern Meet posted here on the site very soon. I also want to make you aware of a seminar I will be hosting at the Carlisle Show Field. This seminar should only take between a half hour and an hour. I will be doing this seminar on gas gauge/fuel sender troubleshooting. It seems many of our members are having issues with their gas gauge not reading properly. This seminar will demonstrate how to isolate the area of the problem. I hope we will get a lot of interest for this activity. rob

  21. I was invited to be in a Memorial Day parade in my 1929 Model A Ford Tudor Sedan. I went to take it out and the battery was almost dead. I got her up and running but it was too late so I fixed a plumbing issue I have needed to fix so while I had the Model A out of the way I fixed the plumbing issue I took the Model A for a ride. rob 20250526_143633.mp4 rob
