It appears it’s pretty intact with few missing pieces. You might try going to Home Depot and get them to cut you 2 pcs. of Plexiglass or real glass about 1/2” bigger than what your build sheet measures. You can sandwich it between them. That will let you work out some of the wrinkles and piece together some of the broken pieces. I used small pieces of Scotch tape on the back to hold them together. Put the plexiglass back on, flip It over, make sure the lines on the front are lined up, flip it back, remove the plexiglass and keep going. When you’re done add some weight and let it sit a couple days. It can get tedious. I found 2 build sheets for mine, and I’ve got at least 3 hours in the real bad one. I completely taped the back with rows of 2” clear packing tape using a small roller to press it down then cut the tape with a razor blade and straight edge even with the paper. You could then get it laminated if you choose. Sorry for the long winded response.

Other than the right side of the front bumper looking a little tweaked, and a request for more photos, if I was still in the market for a first gen, I’d be checking that one out. It goes well with my 69 Daytona Yellow Camaro.

I would think so, the imported stuff Is pretty cheap, and with labor rates at $150-$200/hr, I get it. Given the choice, I’d much rather have a turned US drum/rotor over a new imported one though.

What a diverse group there. My wife’s first car was just like that yellow 64 Falcon, only hers had the six.

Unfortunately we live in a disposable society now and fewer and fewer shops want to mess with turning when they can sell you a new imported part.

I would look for the nicest one I could find, not worrying about the color. SEM makes a vinyl die/top coat that when prepped properly would work fine. Since the dash is virtually a zero wear item it’s one of the few interior areas I would be comfortable with going that route. When I replaced the dash pad on my 84 GMC truck with a new factory GM pad, it came gray so I had to get the correct blue to keep the factory color. Armed with the interior color code, I got what I needed at an auto paint supplier. Because you need black, you wouldn’t need to go through that. That was in 1993, I still have the truck and the dash is still perfect. There is a popular dash restoration business out here in California called Just Dashes that could restore your existing dash in black, but with shipping it may get a little pricey.

The 71 has so many mods that even if it was a real one, it would be too cost prohibitive to get it right again. Especially for 70k, or even 50k. I see it has the shock protectors, and the trailing arms are boxed but no sway bar. Plus all the AC is missing. The 72 seems a little more in line with its pricing. Though still a bit high.

Remember too that of the 349, 80 had the 402. Brings it to 269.

I noticed the check valve wasn’t mentioned. Couldn’t hurt, they’re cheap.

Welcome Allen. I noticed your showing 350 manual. Is that a factory 3 or 4 speed? Thats a pretty rare breed if it is.

I think you’d want to cross your fingers in hopes that cracked windshield isn’t going to be a reoccurring problem.

That listing is at least a year old. That alone says something. That interior is the worst for style and quality that I’ve ever seen. The grill looks like a junior, not even senior high school metal shop project. Someone spent, or wasted way too much on that one. In my opinion of course.

Put the same one on mine about a year ago for the same reason. What I noticed though, was it would puke an ounce or two only when the radiator was topped off. After that it was done and would not do it again. It’s funny because my 69 Camaro with its DZ302 doesn’t have a recovery bottle and has never puked a drop.

Good job Steve. Just had mine checked last week, 0.1. Been just over 2 years for me. Still every 6 months on the check ups. I’m ok with that.

Now that’s a work of art. Definitely fits in with its surroundings.

OK, so it wasn’t the camera angle. My first thought was that there was no way those people could’ve been that close. Plus they were grouped so tight, where were they going to go if the ol General needed another 75’?

It’s nice to hear these kind of stories. Seems like most of what you hear is bad. They sound like a real stand up company. Hoopers Rear End just moved from the LA area up to our small town about 50 miles north. Next year will be 50 years in business for them. That says something about their quality and service.
