My 71 has the collar, and there’s maybe 1/2” clearance because I can’t quite get my index finger between the floor and collar. This is on my 4 post lift so the car sits as it would on the floor so there are no variables that could affect clearance. Did the trans shop replace the trans mount with a thicker one? Could the cross member be slightly bent? Or as Joe suggested the body bushings be collapsed? Because the collar is for balance, if you do away with it, you’ll want to have the drive shaft rebalanced where they tack the weights directly to the tube. Because the collar is the way the factory built it, I’d do my best to find out why there is an issue.

That was an assumption on my part because the photo with the hub caps has the trim without the skirts.

For the money, that definitely looks like something worth checking out. Don’t care for the skirts either, but those could be sold off. Looks like the wheel well trim comes with it too.

Good eye Dennis, missed that. The radio cup repairs was hashed out pretty well on a past post, so no biggie.

It’s funny you mention that. FGMCC is the first thing I go to in the mornings with my coffee, after the dogs have been fed of course. I kept coming back to the site to see if it was up. Maybe that withdrawal thing is real.

I only use my I phone, never the computer. I never had that server issue with my I phone 10. About 3 months ago I replaced it with the 16 and now I get that server fault when I try to post photos too. My tech skills are on par with my brain surgeon capabilities.

I think they’re meant for sit down work. A little pricey if the plan is to upgrade in the future though.

You might want to pick up a service manual dedicated to the 72. There are a few that most of us have that can be very helpful. If you’re interested, a few of the computer savvy members could put out the links to the ones most useful. They are available in digital and book form.
