What did you do to your Monte Carlo today?
cny first gen 71 replied to Canuck's topic in General 70-72 Monte Carlo Forum
Well I got the rear shocks done so now it's a couple days to recover and wait for sending unit to get here. That was quite painful but I won the battle -
Yea I have one from camping world, I have a collection of hats that I don't wear. I don't buy hats either, if I'm wearing a hat advertising a company I certainly ain't paying for it. It just happens to be blue too 😀 I had a few from Jegs I gave away over the years.

I agree, if you ask 100 people you'll get 100 different answers.

That's why I made sure which one I have before I ordered it, sorry to hear. Although I'm not sure that's what you're is doing. I would assume the same thing just plug it off but maybe it's causing a pressure problem in the fuel system. -
Can you dye a vinyl top?

Have to be very careful with that because who knows what has been used to clean or condition over the years and have been soaked into it. -
Unfortunately I don't think you'll find that. I had my hinges rebuilt and they work great but about 1/2 way it won't hold the hood up. Possibly build some sore of prop rod for that. Saw one of the Monte crest once that was pretty cool, saw a small baseball bat once, I thought about making one the shape of a rifle or sawed off shot gun. Use your imagination. I will try to weigh it again sometime.

I belive 63 was an option and were required on 64 model year but not 100 percent sure about that. They were around before that but they chose not to put them in because of expense. N Y requires them in all cars now, my brother had to put them in his 26 Ford for ny inspection along with a windshield wiper too.

I just have the stock belts in mine, I use shoulder belt because the lap belt don't fit around since I repositioning the seat. I'm sure it's that not because I gained weight 🤣

I don't care much for hats, I have a couple I keep in car on package tray from nationals and a chevy one my employees got me when I retired usually wear my stray hat if it's real sunny or hot. Don't want to burn the bald spot on top of my head 😅

No lynching here, some have done and look good. It's your car do what you want to it. I really didn't like the length of the cowl so I built mine the way I wanted it. No not fiberglass.

Be careful the aftermarket molding are a bit thinner, also use the aue-v-co molding clips they work much better the number is 8400.

I tried that with my spare hood it didn't work out so well. Someone said around 8 pounds, sounds about right to me.

My windows were tinted when I got mine, I didn't really like it but left it on until I got a ticket for it then I took the tint off. I Don't miss it at all.

Remove seats front and rear, remove cill plates then remove the old carpets. Do whatever prep needed on floors install new carpets the way the old ones came out. It doesn't hurt to lay them out flat for a while first possibly in the sun. Cut holes for seats and reinstall seats. Don't put cill plates on until your sure it's in correctly trim as needed reinstall cill plates. Be careful when you cut holes for seats you got one shot to get it right if you miss it'll show. Ask me how I know 😆 it's now an awful job but a bit time consuming to do properly.

Oh it's definitely better out of bottles for sure but bottles are heavier and more chance of breaking so for camping and car shows I always do cans. His problem is they don't make his Genesee Cream Ale in bottles any more, that's all he drinks. -
That's great Bruce, mine is coming up next month I believe may 20th was build date, but I've only had mine 18 years at end of June .

I put corvair bucket seats in my 64 chevy wagon years ago so anything is possible.
