  1. Hey all! Long time. Has anyone verified whether these seats will fit in our Montes? I think I remember reading that that generation Monte seats fit, so I figure if those fit then Impala seats should fit. But short of heading to the junk yard with a measuring tape, this is the cheapest way to find out.
  2. Looks great! I know this thread is probably dead, but I'm hoping this gets seen. I'm laying out an LS3/4L60E install. Couple questions: Any clearance issues with steering linkage hitting the engine/oil pan, or the steering column with the headers? I see you said you had no other clearance issues but I didn't know if that was before steering column was in. I saw Super Chevy put an LSA in a 70 Chevelle and they had the linkage hitting, and the column looks like it barely cleared the stock manifolds. Which engine mounts did you go with?
  3. Thanks, all. I did get adjustable rears, just in case I needed them in the future. Glad I did!
  4. Hey all! Been a while. I'm looking at doing the big swap, and I like to plan everything down to the bolt as much as I can before getting into it. When I'm short on money, planning and dreaming is free So I've read that in swapping in an LS engine with a 4L60E, one of the hurdles is getting the motor mounts and transmission mounts to be correct not just for clearance but to maintain the factory drivetrain angle. Apparently if the angle's wrong, bad things happen at highway speeds and/or to U-joints? I'm planning on these UMI Performance motor mounts unless someone has a better recommendation or a bad story about them. 1) Will I be ok moving the stock transmission crossmember back like I've seen others do or do I need to do something fancier? I plan on this being fully capable of highway speeds and road trips (including A/C and cruise). Not just a cruise to Dairy Queen every couple weeks. 2) How do I measure drivetrain angle and ensure that I'm good to go? Thanks!
  5. Hey there Shnalla. I went through the same debate. Here's a thread on what I found. http://fgmcc.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=32137&Number=372009 And here are some pics of the installation. http://fgmcc.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=36192&Number=416731
  6. I ended up going with the Grant Corsa GT. Three spoke, black leather grip.
  7. Yep, this time it worked. Go figure. Thanks for letting me know I wasn't crazy.
  8. Yeah it didn't seem like it wanted to fit that way. It looks like it's *supposed* to go that way, but it wasn't lining up. Maybe I wasn't holding my mouth right
  9. Ordered it from NPD over the phone, so they knew what car I was ordering it for. It's going into one of their steering columns, too. Went to install it and my steering wheel, and it only goes in one way and looks wrong to me. What the heck?
  10. Definitely. Hey, a second set of eyes is always appreciated!
  11. Yeah, they're correct. The snubber doesn't hit right and the arm interferes with the frame on the wrong side, plus I matched them up to the originals. 12. Cool, thanks. Just now getting back here. Busy busy months. Any brand recommended, or just whatever I can get at McAutoParts?
  13. So there's a part I didn't know I needed... Anyone have a linky?
  14. The oval steel bits that seal up the floor pan. How should those be installed? Adhesive? Sealant? What kind? The body guy took them out when he did his thing, so now I need to put them back in.
  15. Hey! Just logged on for the first time in a couple months. The spindles are the original ones, I just had them blasted and powder coated. C'MON. Nobody caught that I was referencing the next lyric with "So I just have to wait"??
  16. Just realized: I don't think I ever posted pics of the install on my front stuff! Slideshow Different wheels and tires on it now, obviously.
  17. Thanks guys! I can't wait to see how the big brakes look filling them up. They should be here soon.
  18. I will say this: When the front was in the air with the new wheels and tires, I turned the wheels back and forth. Far left had the tire hit the sway bar, but not far right. I'm thinking I just need to put it back in the air, loosen the frame brackets on the sway bar and shift it more centered. Worst case, it slightly rubs just before full lock on a smooth surface. I can live with that, since I never drive full lock anyway.
  19. You and me both! I'm doing my best to get it back on the road before June - my 10th anniversary is then, and my wife and I wanted to do another reception and drive off in it. Not sure it's going to happen, but I'm doing my damndest!
