  1. take a few pictures of what yours looks like around the dome light, and around the edges where the windows meets the roof. That where the metal strips are with the teeth. They might be there and you just don't know what to look for. Actually post a picture on here and we can tell you. Some other items to consider are: coat hooks, screws for them, sun visors, screws for them, rear view mirror, screws for it, upper seat belts and bolts for those, the upper seat belt holsters and, you guessed it, screw for those. You will also need the windlace trim: One piece for wind shield, one piece for each side and 1 for rear window. Of course you will need headliner and sail panels as well. Am I missing anything?
  2. Also, I have been looking at ads for seats. I was thinking that the release mechanism for the seats was a button on the back of the seat. I have seen some that have a lever on the side. What is correct for the 72 buckets? Anyone have a picture they can send?
  3. Absolutely Sam. I was looking at a car for sale. The guy had a saddle colored console going with the car. He told me that only 3 colors were available. He just didn't know.
  4. Thanks guys. I was told that they only came in black, green and saddle. I had a feeling that that was some bad info. I am going to be on the hunt for a console and some seats. What type of paint would you use to paint the console and seat backs?
  5. Hey there guy. I have an antique white 72 with blue cloth bench seat interior. I plan to switch it to bucket seats and console. I have been wondering, what colors did the consoles come? Did they offer every color that the interior came? Did they have blue, white, etc. consoles or did all cars have black??
  6. That's impressive. After seeing the numbers of what it will cost to build, I am going to contact a guy that has a car for sale. It has new paint, nice interior with buckets/ console/ tach and 454 with th400 and it around the price for the engine build. I might have my 350 car for sale soon if he still has it.
  7. Yes. I was looking at that 496 kit last night. I like the looks of that! Thanks for the info guys.
  8. Hey guys. I am seriously considering putting a big block in my 72 monte. It is currently a 350/ TH350. I am thinking about a 402, 454 or something like that and a 5 speed manual transmission. Lets say that I found a running 454 but wanted to freshen it up and put a cam in it to make it sound good. I am not looking for a high performance engine. I want to cruise dependably on pump gas in a good sounding car while having the bbc cool factor when the hood is up. What kind of money do you think I would run into to get the engine ready to drop in?
  9. my Baltimore built 72 has nothing in box 25.
  10. Thanks much guys. I was able to find one locally.
  11. Hey guys, I hope someone can point me in the right direction or maybe sell me a part. I took this picture from another 72 monte carlo. The piece I need is marked with the duct tape. It is a small vertical rod that has a 90 degree bend on each end and runs through the carb. Mine is broken. Can anyone help?
  12. Hey guys. After I put all of the interior back together, I could not find the screws for the dash pad. Does anyone know where I might be able to find some?
  13. I might have to do this this winter if the funds are available.
  14. ok guys. I got the heater box empty and most all of the duct work out. I took a toothbrush and soapy water and scrubbed everything under the dash. I think I am heading in the right direction. What concerns me now, is that when I pulled the heater box out, the vacuum lines just kind of fell apart and I am not sure where all of them go. Any advice on how to reconnect these lines? I am going to go get a new heater coil and try to get this back together this afternoon because we leave for vacation in the morning and I doubt I will remember how any of it goes back together if I don't do it today. I might better start a new thread for this.
  15. Hey guys, I bought a 72 MC with 350 and TH350 and there is nothing securing the kickdown linkage to the carb. It looks like it is missing an E clip of some sort. Does anyone know what type of fastener is used for this?
  16. Thanks guys. I hope to get into this a little more tomorrow, especially the heater box/etc. I am planning to spray some epoxy primer on the car today and order the parts needed for the interior. I hope to be driving this baby in a few weeks!
  17. Hey Guys, my signal lights on my bb 72 monte used to work. We drove it the other day and I noticed something odd. when you push down for a left signal, all works fine. When you go up for the right signal, the light on the dash and the lights on the outside of the car come on, and stay on, no blinking or even the sound of blinking. Any ideas what I can check?

I got it guys. It runs great. Thanks for your help.
  19. Hey guys. Are there any special tools I might need for removing trim around windows? I have searched the forum and couldn't find anything.
  20. I couldn't help but to think about Lynyrd Skynyrd. My latest purchase had been sitting in a garage for about 25 years. The mice had moved in and made a mess. I have gutted the interior, all but the dash, and vacuumed everything up. The carpet and headliner were bad so I threw them away. We cleaned all of the parts and reinstalled them. I vacuumed up many mouse skeltons, acorns, droppings, you name it. I removed the dash pad and sucked out all of the acorns in the vents. There is still a pretty strong odor and my wife refuses to ride in it. Do you have any idea what I can do to get rid of the smell?

Hey guys, I am changing the points on a 1972 with 350 and cannot find what the gap should be. Can you help?
  23. I ran the engine today for a good while. It had a miss every now and then. I am going to give it a good tune up and hit the road.
