It ends up that my wife will be working on Thursday, so...I will be making waves on Friday morning. Anyone else leaving the Tacoma area on Friday I could meet you at Krispy Kreme at the tacoma mall around 9:00am.

A lot of times ignition problems and carburetor problems diagnose similarly....could there be an issue with the carb that was overlooked?

I've dropped my drive line before (front U-joint) most often it is the front U-joint that fails like speed freak said. If you have good U-Joints and the correct length drive shaft, the loop is a "just in case" precaution.

Do you have a way to check the Air/Fuel mixture? Does it idle smoothly? could it possibly be a lean condition via a vacuum leak?

If you had a loop in the back and the rear u-joint broke, you could waste your 3rd member...it would make the yoke act like a blender fed with a drive line. If the rear breaks without a loop it will pull out of the trans and drop behind you...right?

My thinking is something to defeat the adhesive without melting away the plastic.....i just don't know what would do that.

As par for the course, my 1972 Grille emblem has faded and needs help. I know there are reproduction units available out there, but I found a 1971 emblem with the helmet plume broken off, the red panel is very nice. I am wondering if anybody here knows of a way to remove the panel from the chrome emblem without damaging the emblem. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I will now be leaving from Bremerton on Thursday. I would like to meet up with the caravan and travel with the rest of you down to the Dalles. Tacoma Mall at the 38th St exit just past the Tacoma dome southbound would be an easy meet...and there is a Krispy Kreme there, or South of Olympia...both are good for me.
