If this was a Chevelle or Camaro, he'd not be getting any bids. Chevelle & Camaro people know trash & BS when they see it. If his bids are legit, he certainly has some people duped.

My brother's Monte came from the factory with a LT2 engine (454 version of the ZL1) and a five speed. I guess it's worth 'bout a zillion dollars....

I can't imagine anybody that's interested in spending that much coin on an automobile wouldn't have at least some knowledge about what he/she's buying. Any serious buyer would research it a bit and discover there was never a 4 speed SS Monte. The condition of the car alone would keep the price down and keep serious buyers away. Common sense also.

Me: 12K is very high for this condition car. BTW, the fan shroud is for a small block. Him: Oh really, I have already had a dealer offer me $11,000.00. IT IS GOING TO SELL, you just watch! Remember it's a big block 4-speed... Do You got a big block 4-speed, if so, I want to buy it. I will buy every one that I can find.... Don't be jealous, be happy... I have people wanted to pay $16K for the car if I will take their trade on it! Nothing like a Big Block 4-speed! Thanks again...

He emailed me saying he had an offer of $11K and if I knew of any more to send them his way.

He says he's looking to get $12,000.00 for it. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

AND he just sent another reply: "I know one thing For Sure. It is working, word is spreading about this car. I have gotten the whole Country stirred up, and I love it. I'm getting e-mails from all over the World! (That's why I love e-bay) Please keep talking, I'm going to sell this baby..... Thanks so much..."

I sent the seller a message. He replied: "We don’t guarantee anything, read our disclaimer. We invite everyone to come and inspect before buying. If you are worried, it’s simple. Don’t Bid!.. GM did build some 4-speed cars…"

Aside from the obvious incorrect designation as a "SS454 4-speed", there are a lot of things wrong with this car. The body is in poor shape, looking at the door to fender line in the SS plate shot. The dash bezils all have beat up chroming. The center console wood grain looks to be contact paper just stuck on, not the burled elm it's supposed to be. What's good about this car? Center console, buckets, no A/C.

Is there a website that offers these for sale? Hey MCBeast, you posted in 2010 that you've received your grill. Do you have any pictures of it installed and/or side by side with an original one?

Sam, did you put the tank in raw or painted? I noticed one of my plastic skirts is cracked at the top two holes. I'm considering the metal ones.

We did it the one time. Had there been another, we'd do it differently. If I'd ever go to a track, I'd ditch it for a pin-on glass hood.

Somebody handed me that -32 swivel thermostat housing. That's why I had the Griffin radiator built with -32 bungs. A bung was also welded to the waterpump. That's real AQP racing hose with an ID of 1.75 inches.

I guess I'm lucky? Every piece of molding on my car was bought brand new GM when they were still available-even the grill. It's been a while...

OK. I defer to your experience. Now I'm wondering where I got the mirror from and what it came on. I guess I gotta dig it out...
