  1. it must be the dust seal driver. i havent found one made specifically for that.
  2. i found the tool that presses the piston back in caliper but cant find and dont know what the other tool does?
  3. i think i ran on to allen style banjo bolts somewhere. why didnt i leave things alone. thats the problem of keeping your first car. most of the stuff you find wrong with car you did yorself. like cut the dash for the latest sterio or modify trunk for subs. i guess ive kept the origional drivetrain in it and didnt wreck it.
  4. Banjo bolt holding brakeline to caliper.
  5. Was wondering if my72 should have 3/8" allen banjo bolt or a regular banjo bolt?
  6. I disassembled pass. side fender and inner fender. Also am working on pass side brake assembly.
  7. what you guys do rebuild your origional calipers or buy new or rebuilt. i was wondering if anybody on hee has rebuilt calipers? ive done 4 wheeler calipers but never cars.
  8. if you need the white pump assembly. all outer parts will be recoated. it is warrantyed as long as you own car. with no discount 325.00. if you dont need hwite pump it is cheaper.
  9. i got mine from leo also and had good results.
  10. Do any of you guys want to get you wiper/washer assembly rebuilt. If we send him 3 assemblys there is a pretyy good discount. pricing is kind of complicated depending on what you want done. theres two different warrantys and depending on if you need the white pump piece. if i could find two other people i would be interestd in getting mine done. i have one on my car that is working but he makes them look brand new, work barand new and a silver sticker with correct info.
  11. here is the parts danny tate sent me from wiper works. these parts are for driving the pump. he advertises he will rebuild your motor assembly and you will get it back. here is his # 931-598-9573
  12. There are alot of things u need to know. Like your washer has powioier all the time. Your switch gives it ground. I have done alot of research and got my wiper motor working and my washer working partially with used parts. I just received parts today from wiper works. I will have pic tomarro. Parts look to be nos.
  13. There is a park position on the back of the wheel. mine was doing that also but i fixed it for awhile. the shaft thatis attached to plunger on pump needs to come back futher so it can go to parked position. if u take the 3 screws out and take pump [you said a naughty!]. off on the back side there is a shaft with a 3/8 inch knob that rides the 4 sided cam piece. that 3/8 knob gets a flat spot wore on it, all u have to do is take vise grips and turn the knob 180' so it rides on the unworn portion. i got mine wher everything works but its not consistant. i had it workin good then after 3 times they stuck and i gotta pop hood and pull black cover off and try and get it where its suppose to be. the guy at wiper works is sending me new parts and illsee if it helps. if it doesnt i am going to disconect them.
  14. well from what im hearing maybe the best way would be to take out the gear that runs washer and it will cure my problems. i could put it in parked position but if i ever accidentlly hit the button id have problems getting washer to shut off. also the wiper motor has to turn the washer [you said a naughty!]. and if i take that gear out it wont do so.
  15. ive got everything figured out but everything has to be just right. that was what i was wondering if am wasting my time trying to keep them working.
  16. ive been workin on my wiper system as it was all pretty well worn out. the washers havnt worked since i started driving car in 87. It was kind of hard to figure out how it works when it didnt but i figured it out. after putting newer components on and taking the slop out of them there working pretty good. on the other hand the washers work half witted. sometimes not wanting to shut off and not not coming on unless i trip them manually. just wondered how many of your cars actually have working windsheild washers? i got the fellow at wiper works sending me some parts that are not wore out. maybe i should just send him the unit and let him overhaul it?
  17. did it run as good as it looks?
  18. MAN, that is cool. Howd it run?
  19. im not sayin this is what is wrong with yours but wanted to share an expirence i had a month ago. i bought a truck from buddy. 77 chevy with 454. he had just had starter rebuilt and nose pc replaced. i had trouble with it. shimmed it everything. finally i talked to the local guy here who rebuilds starters. he said they shouldnt ever need shimmed unless some has resurfaced nose peice. got to looking on computer. came up with people havin trouble with the same thing. 77 had a starter with 3/8 bolts. newer ones had 10mm bolts. i compared bolts to holes. they were sloppy as can be. it would start a few times then move. i also put the front bracket on starter to block. bingo! works perfect. make sure someone didnt put the wrong nose on it.
  20. when do they need one? this motor has a different cam supposably. i was thinkin my 402 had one. thank you!
  21. im putting timing chain in a 77 454. did not see a cam button. and also torque specs on the cam spocket bolts?
