  4. Hi all, I know this has been kicked around a few times I am about to do the rear springs on my 71 Monte,I am planning on using Moog 5501's i think these are the variable type. what i need to know is the ride height(ground to quarter panel above wheel) you have with them,I have right now 24 3/8" from floor to 1/4 panel with my old springs.I am running 235 60 15's all around. I want to have it at approx 26" you thoughts on springs or height? thanks Bill

  6. what i did was use engine cleaner and worked it in with a soft scrub brush, then rinsed well, after it was completly dry i used a product that is called Steel It which is a areasol spray paint. it turned out like new and no stains show through.
  7. Ok,I went to my nieces hair salon with my son and the Monte, their shop on Valentine day donates all money received to the Canadian cancer society. All they ask is for a donation, got the ears lowered and I look as good as I can get. My son and myself went for a cruise through downtown Vancouver up and down the main cruising strips,it was cool and dry(42*} tons of people giving the thumbs up and giving positive comments. When I was on Granville mall (main nightclub area) we had the windows down and heater on when all of a sudden two motorcycle cops pulled up beside us , he said my Shiney Hiney LED tail lights were flashing way too fast.? ([you said a naughty!] )he said this was a MV violation but then he said he liked the car and said I had a electricial problem and would let me go. Glad he is a cop and not a mechanic! He told me he had a first Gen Monte back in the day and he said I did a nice job fixing the car up. As my son was with me I was polite and was a good citizen..... And how was your day.......

  14. Hi guys,I have just about pulled the rest of my hair out. I am mounting a tach on my steering colum and I cant get it to work White wire to lamps Black wire to ground Green wire to positive of coil Red wire to switched power. I have checked and have a good ground, light lights up in the tach, I have confirmed the switched power wire has power when I turn the ignition on. I have checked all connections and all is tight, I don't know if this make a difference but I have a Petronix ignition under the cap,I am stumped any ideas, it is a new tach and the setting is set to 8. Thanks Bill

  20. Ok guys here goes, my 7T1 has been running a little warmer than usual (200-210) the weather outside has been a dry 30C or about 90 F. it is a 350 4brl little more than stock set up with headers, I went out today and bought a new 160 degree one from the parts store, when i went to change it tonight i found out that it had a 195 degree installed in there, i thought it was a 180? my question is what are the pro's and cons of going with a lower temp unit. Any ideas ..thanks Bill
