  1. Dennis, I just installed the Moog 5336 (Specs Below ). It was between the 5336 and the 6330 that you just installed. Everything is in the car except the Passenger and back seat and the door panels. I have the lower control arm bolts snugged up , I still have to torque them down. I did torque the uppers without the engine in the car. Now that I replaced the front springs all the front suspension is brand new. All Polyurethane bushings. Even the rubber bumpers. part In DIAM Out DIAM spring rate LOAD INSTALL HEIGHT FREE HEIGHT 5536 : 3.63 : 0.687 : 487 : 1984.5 : 11 : 15.06 : Big Block 6330 : 3.68 : 0.625 : 293 : 1827 : 11.25 : 17.5 : Small & Big ?
  2. Thank...The springs are now installed. What was the height of yours when you were done? Did you replace just the coils? I had also replaced all the Control arm bushings with the Polyurethane Bushings. Mine is still sitting high over the tire. Guess I need to be patient now and see where she settles to like everyone said.
  3. Got the new springs. These springs one side of the coil is flat. Old ones were not like that. Does the Flat side face down to the ground in the control arm ? Or up towards the hood in the pocket ?
  4. So I am thinking about getting new springs that would not be so Heavy duty. If the springs I get Are not high Enough I could always get the Viking Coil over Shocks. I am not sure which springs to get. Looked up the rates for the springs I just removed and ones listed for out cars from Moog. Or does anyoeone else have a suggjestion? Or should I just cut the ones I have and Re-install? Thanks part In DIAM Out DIAM spring rate LOAD INSTALL HEIGHT FREE HEIGHT 5374 : 3.63 : 0.64 : 317 : 1957 : 11 : 17.17 : JUST REMOVED 5536 : 3.63 : 0.687 : 487 : 1984.5 : 11 : 15.06 : Big Block 6330 : 3.68 : 0.625 : 293 : 1827 : 11.25 : 17.5 : Small & Big ? 5372 : 3.63 : 0.625 : 288.5 : 1843 : 11 : 17.38 : Small Block
  5. Amazing enough I found the recipt for my coil springs. I purchased them 7-7-1992. So do I cut them Or should I look for a different spring ? MOOF-5374 Fronts MOOG-CC507 Rears
  6. Just to see I measured to see how far the engine crossmember is from the ground. Its 9.5 Inches from floor to the bottom of the engine crossmember. Heres a couple pics to see how far up the fender is from the tire.. . http://s1343.photobucket.com/user/snomobeelr/media/tireheight3_zps59a36712.jpg.html?sort=9&o=155 http://s1343.photobucket.com/user/snomobeelr/media/tireheight2_zpsa35cb657.jpg.html?sort=9&o=154
  7. I have the Bilstein High Performance Shock Absorber from PST.
  8. I was thinking about that, Getting the Viking Shocks. I will still need to cut some of the springs away to lower it. Still havent driven it but the alignment is so far off from being so High up. So if I cut the Coils I should only cut have a coil at a time? Even if it drops an inch over time it is still really high. I am not 100% but I belive the front springs were for a 71 Impala Waygon BB...
  9. The Springs, front Suspension, body shell and engine have all been installed for over a Year. the Body Panels have been on the car since the car was painted 3-1-14. The bumper and all the glass has been in for about two weeks. Interior just doesnt have passenger and back seat installed. I am a bit slow at getting things Together ; ) I tightened the front End Bolts but still need to Tourqe them to Specs. Havent done that yet any one have the Torqe specs on Hand.. Thanks Everyone
  10. My front end is up high I am just addressing it now. When I was assembling the frame and suspension the body was off the car. I used the same front coils springs that were on the car when I took her apart because I liked the stance. I didn't think going from steel to aluminum heads would make such a big difference. That or the powder coater gave me back the wrong springs. I have 15 x8 with 245/60/15 on the front and the car is about 2 to 2.5 inches to high in the front end. It is about 4.5 inches from the top of the tire to the Wheel well trim. I can stick my fist between the tire and the Wheel well with clearance to spare. Any Idea how much coil to cut off to drop it 2 inches?
  11. I got the cam through Davey/Chris Straub. I also had the initil set to 18 and when I put her in gear she dropped and wanted to die. @22 Inital I put her in grear and she is good. How do you know how much vaccum advance you have? By the timing when you connect it up after setting the initial?.. So I am ok with the 22 mechanical. Now I have to find a Distributor bushing to only add 14 Degrees on to it correct?
  12. Can I have too much Timing?I was having trouble with Carb/Timing. Was setting my initial to 14 to 16 and car Idled and revved fine until I put in in gear under load. I bumped it up to 16 to 18 Initial and it was same but under load it was better. I now have it at 22 Initial and it is fine under load putting it into drive and reverse. Is 22 Initial too much. I know I will have to change something because the full advance is now 42. 13. Any one have pictures of how the adjusters with the felt are installed in the door for adjusting the glass. And the 2 inch by 4 inch pieces with 2 screws? thanks
  14. Looking for any pictures of the way the window is mounted in the door to the brackets and rod. I have the Fisher book but its not too clear. Thanks
  15. So I can use the dielectric grease on the metal plug wire clip to the nipple on the spark plug? For some reason I thought dielectric was an insulator and I wasn't supposed to use it on that.
  16. Thank You but the issue I am having isnt the boot. Its the "wire" clip onto the tip of the plu'g. good thing is they dont fall off. Bad is it a pita to get on and off. I got aggravated last night and pulled to hard and clip pulled off the wire stayed on plug... I didnt know if maybe I could use the light bulb grease or somthing on there..
  17. Thanks Sam... There any type of lubricant for the tip of the spark plug so that the plug wires aren't such a pita to off and on ??
  18. Plugs I took out were gapped at 32. Just want to make are thats ok or should it be different? NGK V-Power - Non-Resitor Plugs. Thanks 468 10 to 1 Brodix Race Rite oval MSD Pro Billet HEI Distributor ( no box ) Air Gap RPM Intake
  19. I must be doing something wrong.. I wasn't the one who took it apart so I cant even go from my limited memory ; ). I place the lock cylinder in fist. Then the shield emblem goes over it. But there is no room to get the barrel clips on. I know I have fat hands but there is no room in there..
  20. Is there a trick to installing the Trunk key emblem ? Thanks
  21. Holy Moses.. Ok I think I will do the rally's and get them powder coated Black for now. Then After the car is painted and back together for a when I can afford it I do those. Guess it will be the ones below. thanks guys.. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/wvi-38-581205 Silver 15x8 5x4.5/4.75 B.C. 5" backspace $77.97 x 2 + Powdercoating
  22. Didnt want to hijack some one elses thread.. Have 15x8 Rally's. Fronts are fine 245-60-15. Back tires are 275-60-15 Drag Raidals and hit. So I either need to get two more Rallys with 5 inch Back Space and then have all four rims powdercoated black. (want them black with baby moons). Or I can look for 16x8 Torque Thrust D with Black spoke's that I like.. If I go with the Torque Thrust D will I have to still do the 5 inch Backspace? Thank's Alan
  23. I did the same thing. I replaced my 781 castings and have 2.19 and 1.88 valves with Brodix RR. It took a while and I finally sold the 781's for $180.00. At most had 10000 miles on them.. Kinda wish I kept them on a shelf
  24. I probably should have listened to Davey and done the 1 3/4 Dougs but I went with the Patriot 1 7/8 and they fit with no mod's.. I did make a heat shield for my Proportioning valve though since it was close. Patriot Exhaust H8024-1 - Patriot Full-Length Headers
