  1. Brendan you can paint the roof and put the trim back. Like the two tone cars. Saw this one while out for a walk .
  2. Wow what a change. Coming along nicely. Looking forward to seeing it when your done. Keep the pics coming.
  3. It looks like 70 chevelle seat covers.
  4. Brendan like you I had limited knowledge and skills for metal fab and bodywork. Luckily for me there's a trades college not to far from where I live, that offers a 1 year part-time autobody coarse. Signed up and surprised myself, I really enjoy doing it. Finished the coarse with a grade of 96. Tied for highest mark in class. 0ldest person in class (58 at the time). Maybe there's something like that around your area. Never worked with fiberglass before so very interested in following .
  5. Just wanted a price. Doing a cowl hood is way, way far away. By then I'll have done so much fab and welding, I should be able to make my own.
  6. There is a repop cowl hood. Comes in both functional and non-fuctional. Closes place to me here in ontario wants $ 1700 (canadian) not including tax or shipping.
  7. Was out walking yesterday with my wife Mona, came across a little show and shine at the senior's residence just up the road from our house. About a dozen cars. The first one I noticed is a '72 green Monte Carlo. Went around looking at the other cars, saving the Monte until last. Beautiful car, small block, bucket seats, console. The owner came up and we started to chat. I was ready to put on my salesmen hat and promote the great club we have. Turns out he's already a member, first one I've met in person. Funny thing we both live here in Oshawa, both own green cars and are named Rob. I know, no pictures, didn't happen. So here she is.
  8. Bob Someone has added grand prix door handles. Seen the thead, just can't remember the title. Someone with better memory will chime in.
  9. Thanks for the fast reply. Just waiting on the seller to get back to me.
  10. Looking at a fitech efi. It comes with the 350 motor it's set up for. If I want it. The block number is 10066038. 92 ish 4 bolt main, made in mexico. Don't know much about motors . Can I use parts from the 350 I have now. Original 70 010 block late model heads. Has comp cam and roller rockers ( needs bottom end rebuilt ). Yes I know its a no brainer. Efi and motor delivered for cost of the efi. Thanks
  11. Thanks for your input James . Yes I'm doing a body off, have been taking pictures. Should have taken more. Spent the last three years putting together parts (still buying) and now its go time. I'm thinking of doing a thread for my build. There isn't going to be much left of the original car. But to make it right, it has to be done.
  12. It's a one piece pan with floor braces. Plan to add support bracing . Side to side, front to back and criss cross. Thanks for the advice. If anyone has more tips or tricks, always looking for ways to make things go better.
  13. Thanks Ron. As soon as we get warmer weather, I'll be back in the garage prepping to cut out the old floor.
  14. I've been guardian of Steve's monte for 5 years. Been in the family for 14 years. Both my brothers owned it. Was bought off kijiji I believe. Steve 2008-2016. Glen 2016-2017. Myself 2017-present.
  15. Morning Still looking for any advise. Found a post from tommyss454, pictures help. Thanks Robert
  16. Good morning one and all. Now that I have the floor, are there any mods I'll need to do to get the best fit. Any tricks or tips would be of great help. If it wasn't for the insight and help of all the members, I don't think I would have taken on this project. Thank you all. Robert
  17. Thanks guys. Pulled the trigger. One part that I won't have to wait 6 months to arrive.
  18. Have had a 68-69 chevelle floor pan with braces offerd to me. Will it fit my 70 monte. Thanks for the help.
  19. Yes the fenders are 70's. Most of the parts need some kind of work done to them. Going to wait till I'm finished my build then sell off what I have left.
  20. You are correct sir. All 1970. The person I got it from owns two 72's When he bought the second car it came with a ton of parts and he didn't want the 70 stuff. As for the steering wheel can the shroads be swapped. Its not in the greatest shape and the one in the car has the two horn buttons. Its in far better shape. Would like to switch them. Thank everyone.
  21. My wife and I went for a 3 hour drive in order for me to buy a rad cradle and to look at a driver's side fender. As you can see in the pictures, I came back with more than I originally intended. In order to buy the cradle and driver's fender, I had to buy the passenger fender as well. To get the bumper brackets, I needed to buy the filler panel and bumper. To get the roof trim included in my bundle, the remaining items needed to be purchased as well; pair of fender extensions, 2 grills, parking light lenses and steering column. The last pic is before and after of the roof trim, cleaned and polished. Now, my question, could this be a '71 steering wheel?
  22. Evening everyone I think the frame has been cracked for a few years. With all the black tar, undercoating, oil and dirt no one could see the crack. It wasn't till march of 2020 when I was really going over the car to make my plan for building it that I found the crack. Got the new frame from Leo (Koniks Klassics).
  23. Well I've cut the brackets, the floor and broke the bolts. Body is now separated from frame. Replacing the frame because it's broken, pictures included.
  24. It's a complete floor. The floor in the car has major patches in it,with seven holes. The front floor brace is gone and the rear is well on it's way. Going to take your advise to cut and peel the brackets. Once the body's off I'll come up with a plan to remove the brackets
  25. Thank you Larry. Once I've got the body off I'll be replacing the floor and floor braces. Do I not need to remove the brackets to get the floor replaced.
