  1. i put about 650 hp to an auburn unit in a 4000 lb 4 speed car and it left a bad taste in my mouth. replaced it with an 800 lb eaton "brute trac" unit and i couldn't break it if i wanted to.
  2. it will fit as long as it came from a 12 bolt. however...in my opinion...an auburn carrier ain't worth the scrap steel it's made from. they use cone style clutches and if it burns up...it's trash. they are NOT rebuildable. that's just my opinion. like i said, if the auburn carrier and gears came from a "car" 12 bolt...they will fit in any "car" 12 bolt axle.
  3. any gm A body clutch and brake pedal will work...not sure about F and X bodies....you can buy a complete kit on ebay. the chevelle z-bar frame bracket will NOT work because the engine is further back in relation to the crossmember compared to a chevelle but they do make one for a monte carlo. hope this helps
  4. My 71 isn't an SS by any means, but I love the blacked out tailpanel and have to have it. I found a guy that machines the end trim pieces from stainless to exact copy of the original. Can't wait to see what it looks like on mine.
