  1. Thanks Guys Radial T/A in 225/70/15 seem to be hard to find right now. Anyone run 215/70/15 on all four corners? Shawn
  2. Hey guys,I need some advice I need to get some new tires ,I am replacing 235/60/15 I cant decide whether to go stock size 225/70/15 , or something like a 255/60/15 Do you guys with the stock size find them too tall or skinny? Are there pros or cons to either of these sizes. I have new stock springs on the front and back ,and air bags on the back. Thanks-Shawn
  3. Hi Last year we took our 454 car to Pontiac Mi. for the Woodward cruise. About 155 miles each way. Got about 16 MPG I am running a 670 Holley Street avenger carb.,and the engine also runs Merlin cyl heads. Not too bad mileage I think. Shawn
  4. Vince, I am back and forth on this. Is it too late to register? Shawn
  5. Thanks Sam Were these cars low from the factory? In other words is the front height I have the original spec approx.? Shawn
  6. Hi Guys Whuts up? I have a 71 SS car,and have a couple of questions. Info first though,I have replaced the front coils with the Moog 454 non a/c springs and Monroe sensitrac shocks I replaced the rear coils with Moog CC501 Cargo coils and Monroe shocks. I also have air bags in the rear coils. I have 235/60/15 tires Sooo, with about 18 psi in the air bags I am approx. 10.5 inches from the rocker to the floor at the rear and about 8.5 inches at the front. My feeling is that the front is too low,and I would like to get even height from front to back The old long tube headers are flat on the bottom from bottoming over the years, and need replacement. Thanks Shawn
  7. I am still here, just hibernating in the great white north. Had a lot of fun at Woodward last year. Looking forward to coming this year. Shawn
  8. Dynomax Super Turbo here as well. Chambered design vs the Ultra Flow straight through design. I used these to calm down my 454 that had some loud no-name mufflers. Shawn
  9. My 71 Canadian SS does not have it. Shawn
  10. Thanks guys, Anyone know where I can get one of these? Shawn
  11. Hi Guys My Canadian built 1971 SS car has option code NK2 for the steering wheel. It says "Deluxe vinyl steering wheel" Can anyone tell me what this one looks like? Aplologies if this is covered somewhere else. Thanks-Shawn
  12. Hi Bruce I agree on that,I worked for Napa for 20 years and have seen many "rebuilt" products come back under warranty. Shawn
  13. Thanks Tony What is a good source for HEI? GM performance or ebay etc. Shawn
  14. Hi Bruce When I got the car it had the original point system, and an MSD box. I have heard a loud buzz, humm noise when the car warmed up. We first thought it was the transmission, but it turns out to be the MSD box. I would like to disconnect it and let the original system work. I am thinking of a Pertronix or a HEI at some point when budget allows of course. Shawn Shawn
  15. Thanks Joe Awesome diagram The help on here is great. Shawn
  16. Hey Guys Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the ignition ,starting circuits on a 1971? I am removing my MSD and could use some help. Thanks-Shawn
  17. I am having trouble getting at my back two plugs with the old headers I have on right now. If I go to shortys, how do I get down pipes? Do they need to be custom bent? Shawn
  18. Ok That would be great, Thanks.
  19. Hey Guys Thanks for all the info. I checked Hedman, and they say that the only thing they have is shortys to fit properly. I will consider Dougs, although pricy. Thanks-Shawn
  20. Hey folks, Did some searching, but cannot find any clear indications for the best fitting headers for my SS car. Any suggestions? Over at the Chevelle forums they talk about Dougs and Hedman Elites. But I wonder if the fitment is different from Chevelle to our cars. Thanks Shawn
  21. Wow, Thanks guys, you are all a wealth of info. I am just getting used to my car after a year, and the springs are one of my major areas of concern. I will probably go with cc501 on the rear and the non ac up front. On another note,I have been to five or six shows this year and notice the Monte does not garner the respect it deserves at most car shows. It does feel good however to not be in the usual bunch of Camaros and Chevelles,Miustangs etc. Thanks-Shawn
