  1. My 72 after sitting a few days is hard to start. Took off the fuel line and it was dry. My thought was the fuel pump was letting the fuel pump bleed off. Took off the fuel pump and the bottom was twisted or rather torqued out of shape. Someone put a lot of torque on the metal fuel line warping the base of the old pump. So now waiting for Summit to ship me a new one that is a little heavier duty than the standard one that was on the car.
  2. Took the 72 to the tranny shop today. Thanks to the Grease sent me I got a kit from BowTie OverDrives for the 700R4 and it now shifts like a new car. Before it hit the gears hard when it shifted. Now smooth as silk and the tranny guy is very happy with the way it turned out. He has ordered a Tranny pan drain plug but his supplier was out so when he gets it in the car will go back and have that installed and while he is at it he seen a couple of drips he wants the check out.
  3. I had that problem with the holly that came on my car. I checked out the base of the carb and one corner was bent leaking gas and sucking air.
  4. The Wizards Black Renew can also be used to remove wax and clean up the rubber window trim. I rubbed out my 72 last Aug and had the white residue all over the cowl screens, trunk seal and window seals. After using the Black Renew they looked like new again.
  5. On my 72 I am using Wizards Black Renew. It cleans and shines up Inner skirts, hoses and fan shroud nicely.
  6. Mine is painted with SEM Trim Black.
  7. I just don't car for a two tone painted like that.
  8. I personally would NOT bend those tabs. Cast Iron breaks easily. I am sure someone will have an answer as I have never ran across that problem.
  9. I have seen headers come with a spacer that goes between the header and the bracket so you can use the same setup as before. I have a bracket that the guy I bought my car from made that bolts on the front of the head whee the AC bracket was. It works very good but I am reinstalling my AC so I had to get what was on the car when new. I can send y9ou the bracket for shipping. Will post a pix later today mowing hte yard but took a short break.
  10. Make sure your check the fluid while it is hot.
  11. I have seen something like that before and if my memory isn't to fuzzy it is an oil filter adapter. I have been wrong a couple of other times today so this could be my trifecta.
  12. What about cutting it with the dremel close but not thru and then using the puller?
  13. The tall valve tell me the AC is on its way out.
  14. SEM does make a lot of great products. I have used their Trim Black on a lot of exterior and interior trim pieces. I thought your trying to color seats and door panels when I suggested the Dupont. $70 is about right for 1/2pt of vinyl resin color but that 1/2pt goes a long ways.
  15. Here is a link to the pix of order sheet. I sold my 68 Nova for what they offered in trade so I actually benefited around $400 by going that route. http://www.firstgenmc.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=3990&ppuser=3783
  16. My SB is Alt, Power Steering and then the 3rd belt runs around the P/S and the A/C
