  1. I will be looking into what space we can use/reserve. There is a large lot just a couple blocks West of the hotel on W2nd street. It is across the street from a restaurant. I looked at it using the Google Maps street view and it just had a couple RVs and some cars parked in it. There is some sort of business sign on the lot but I can't read it in the image. There does not appear to be any gates or anything for this lot. I will try to find out what this is and see if we can park trailers there. Heck, maybe there's a gas station nearby with a roomy parking lot. The search continues.
  2. I was just reading some reviews of The Dalles Inn on the Trip Advisor web site. It seems like people have some positive things to say about it in recent months. It appears like it will have a lot of things going for it during the weekend. It is right on the main drag where the cruise occurs. The hotel will have either a live band or DJ on the cruise night. They will also be setting up a wash bay for the cars to get cleaned up. The only drawback is the lack of parking for trailers. I was taking a look at the hotel using the street view on google and the parking lot is not all that spacious. The lot behind the hotel is for a Pub and some other business so we can't park them there. The hotel is suggesting parking them on the street. I beleive Jake said there was some space around the area where you might be able to park trailers but it was not near The Dalles Inn. There's other various lots near the hotel I will be looking into. Any suggestions from trailer owners?
  3. Based on the discussion above... Where: Krispy Kreme at Tacoma Mall (just off I5) When: August 12th @ 11AM roughly Any objections? Jake: Are we still going to that Chinese restaurant? If not, we'll just find somewhere else to go for lunch. This will be fun!
  4. Yeah, I sure wish you could have been there Chris. As for the Western Meet, whether your car is ready or not we are dragging you there.

I purchased the car in Reno, Nevada in September, 2008. This photo was taken during the journey to its new home. It was a great drive.

  10. I have a list from a few weeks ago but I will get an updated list from the hotel.
  11. The rooms at the hotel are held for the FGMCC until July 29th. Be sure to book soon in order to secure a room. After July 29th, there is no guarantee you will get a room that weekend. Info here: http://www.fgmcc.com/05meetwest.shtml
  12. The weather was great. No rain and we had comfortable tempuratures throughout the weekend.
  13. OK, here are my photos for the Firecracker Rod Run: http://s924.photobucket.com/home/Aaron70Monte/allalbums
  14. The meet we had in Ferndale on the weekend was a lot of fun. Although several people who originally planned to attend could not come for various reasons, we still had 7 Montes there. The free camping aspect of the event is great. Most of us were in tents. Jake and Deb brought their motohome and a bunch of goodies (tables, BBQ, EZup, etc) which makes it easier for cooking and such. The motorhome came in handy on Saturday night when the mutant mosquitos were out in big numbers. These things were immune to any spray, wipe or candle we threw at them. It was funny watching Mark and Jake eat their steaks while walking around the park avoiding mosquitos. I have to thank Deb for buying food for all of us and cooking all weekend. I think you should keep her, Jake. Jeff (Judge) received the best craftsmanship award for his LS1 powered 71 Monte. I received the Best Observer award for getting the most right answers on the poker run/rally but I have to give credit to Mark (MGD72Monte) and Jeff for being my eyes while I was driving. My 5 hour drive there and back was uneventful which is good. The 70 Monte worked really well even in the hot tempuratures. Thanks to everyone who attended. As usual, it was great to catch up with old friends and meet new members. The people in this club are great. I will post some photos this evening.
  15. The confirmation cards should be mailed out later this week.
  16. You don't get a copy of the original build sheet. You get an official GM peice of paper that lists all the options ordered on your car but it does not resemble a build sheet.
  17. The tag on the cowl (body tag) and the VIN tag in the windsheild. I beleive there is also a sequence number stamping which matches the VIN on the firewall behind the heater box. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  18. Here is the answer I received from the president of the Mid Columbia Car Club: The Rotary is supposed to send out a confirmation post card to all the registrants. Have meeting on the 6th and see if that is being done...Will be glad to meet you and the rest of club that is coming......John
  19. I made my reservation over the phone and they gave me a confirmation number. Maybe you could phone them to get a confirmation number. As for the show registration, I will be doing mine this week. I sent the show organizer an email t enquire about what we should receive as confirmation.
  20. Look forward to seeing you Luke. We do have a hard luck award... but it's better if you don't win it.
  21. There's a lot of WM folks that don't visit the board much. It's crazy not to take advantage of this offer.
  22. 7 weeks! Make your reservations if you have not already done so.
  23. Dave, were you an english teacher in a previous life?
