Big Jim
I haven't done this in a while and am trying to figure out best way to do this without using a flush machine.
Sam (Bones)
the best way to get a "complete" draining of the cooling system there are 2-1/4" plugs on each side of the block just above the oil pan and near the engine mounts, but can be extremely difficult to get out, this will completely drain the block and remove the heater hose that goes to the intake manifold to drain the coolant from the heater core and drain the radiator this will completely drain all the coolant now if you are lucky enough to get those plugs out, you may need to stick a screw driver in the hole to break up some rust that's know to settle and block the hole, if there's a lot of rust, it would be a good idea to pull the thermostat and flush the block, just use your garden hose in the intake manifold now...if you go to this extent, while the thermostat is out, drill a 1/8" hole in it before you re-install it to help with purging air
Big Jim
Not sure I want to attempt the block plugs.
