Borsini1
I have a 70 Monte with a 350. I am swapping out for a 454 with about 525HP. Do I need to add frame stiffners? If yes, where would I find such an animal? Are there the stiffners which will just bolt on or would they have to be welded on? Thank you in advance! Sam (Bones)
at that power level you do not need to worry about the frame, I had 650-700 at one time with no issues but if you consider changing body mounts you might want to consider using polyurethane body mounts, they will stiffen things up some
502ci
I agree with Sam. Mine is putting out roughly 520hp (at the flywheel) and have not added any frame stiffeners. I do have poly motor mounts, tranny mount, and complete poly rear suspension but that is about it...oh, and all boxed rear control arms. Borsini1
Thank you very much guys!! I am planning on changing body mounts and motor mounts. I will see if I can find poly for both. Thanks again

Borsini1
Very cool. Thank you for the link. I am changing the tranny out as well to a Pro Street 4STB with manual valve body and OD. I was advised on changing the tyranny crossmember to a G Force crossmember for a 700R4. Do you have a recommendation on this or does it sound good?
