Have an Panasonic radio that is is giving me issue(s):

First issue is, it won't retain pre-programmed stations for longer than 10 minutes after shut-off.

Secondly, on certain songs, depending on how they were recorded, (4-channel)??

I loose the "lead" guitar or solo.

completely,or it has significantly lower volume.

Anybody encounter either issue ?

Appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks.

Make sure polarity for the speakers are correct and make sure the speaker balance is centered. Then make sure you are wired correctly for power. The yellow wire needs a constant battery source.

Appreciate the feedback all.

Will check that the yellow wire is properly connected to the battery.

How do I check the polarity ??  I've heard the term before associated with amplifiers, but not with radio output, but makes sense, as an amplifier is filtering sound for output.

Is it associated in any way with the 4- channel thing I mentioned ?

I started having some issues when my alternator was not charging all the time.

The car would still crank and start and run but developed a slight miss and the radio (CD changer) would not change to the next disc.

Each speaker has a + or - and if they are backward than The phasing is off. Make sure you connect the correct wire with the correct terminal. Each wire that has a stripe on it is usually considered the negative side.
