Guest
I discover something new every time I take my recently purchased 71' 350 out for a drive. Today I noticed I had no kick down on hard accel and found that the trans cable is not connected. I do not know much of the history of the car, but I do know that a new intake and 4 barrel carb were added when it was rebuilt. I undid the adjustment and it will just barely reach the carb linkage and just doesn't seem right. Has anybody else come accross this? I am not sure if the cable is just sticking in trans and won't pull out or if it is just an application problem with the new carb. Thanks! stangeba
Brian, Do you know what the car had before? What carb and intake is on it now. Many people swap out the Quadrajet for a Holly, If you go from a 2bbl Rochester to a 4bbl Holly, would that require a different downshift cable? I don't know just thought I would post the question to the board. Bruce
Guest
Bruce, It did have 2 barrel and now it has a 4 barrel Holley and Edelbrock intake. It seems like I will need to replace the cable. Thanks
