Leghome
I just purchased new rotors, brake drums, calipers, wheel cylinders, Ultra Premium pads and shoes, rubber brake lines and hardware kits. Now I just need a wet weekend so I can tear into it. Just remembered I need to get some pad lube so I do not have any squealing when the brakes are applied. All parts are from NAPA because that is where I am working at the present time and the price could not be beat.
cny first gen 71
You may want to pre spray all the fittings with pb blaster or something like that in hopes they come apart easier.
Leghome
great idea Steve. Talked to my son in-law and we are going to make plans shortly to get-er done
rpoz20
I just did the same to the fronts.... When I got to the rears, it was like a horror movie in there. Seeing as how I can guarantee that all the parts under the drum are either original or from the mid-70's, I decided to bite the $$ bullet and buy all new assemblies from Year One. Basically about double the cost but 4 bolts instead of innumerable headaches.
