Kevin Wiles
will the driveshaft be the same length for a 72 monte that originally had a th350 which is replaced with an early 60's borg warner t10 4-spd manual? i know the yoke is different but once the yoke is replaced will the driveshaft be the right length? Kevin Wiles
the reason i'm asking is because i need to find a used driveshaft because the one out of my car has a boogered up end on it and i know where a 72 monte parts car is
Andreas
My best guess would be the answer is no. Â See discussion below: Â T-10 Driveshaft
Guest
Is there a place near you that can lengthen or shorten one for you. I had a place in IL that would. It was a driveline shop. Big J.
superstk
Kevin, Leave the driveshaft for the last thing to hookup after you get everything together. Then, insert the yoke into tranny and measure the length from center of u-joint to center of u-joint at rearend. That will give you the length for the driveshaft. Measure the driveshaft you have and see if it's the same. If not, shorten the one you have or if a longer one is needed, then buy one. Kevin Wiles
my dad picked up the driveshaft from the shop and carried it back to my house. We got under there, slid the yoke all the way in, then 1 inch back, then held the driveshaft up into place. The stock driveshaft is 1.5" too long. Don't know if I'll have to get a driveshaft shop to shorten one for me yet. I'll be hunting a driveshaft this week to see if I can find one that will work without shortening.
