Canuck Posted January 27 Share Posted January 27 My engine (L48 300hp 350 4-barrel) casting number is 3970014. In the By the Numbers book it states this was in a couple 1970-71 Camaros and some 1972 cars but not much is known. The Monte stamping would typically be 3970010. My engine had never been out of the car and the date codes all make sense. Cast date code Sep 27, 1969 (I 27 9) Stamped build date Oct 1, 1969 (1001) Car build date Oct 14, 1969 (10-14 on build sheet) 6 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
