Battery Tray Removal - 1970 Monte

Hi - I am new to this forum. I have a 1970 Monte that I have owned for little over a year and am slowly replacing parts, etc. I would like to replace the battery tray - any advice would be appreciated. The battery tray is connected via three bolts - 2 to the radiator support and 1 to a battery tray support bracket (@ bottom of tray). Of the 2 bolts connected to the radiator support, one is threaded into the tray - how do I access this bolt - by removing the inner fender? I will post photos in the near future. Thanks - any adice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your response. I replaced the battery tray this past weekend. I discovered that I had to remove the headlight assembly in order to access the bolt head.

*scratches head* *oh*.. I know that bolt. that bolt isn't supposed to be there.. it's not stock.

my reproduction battery tray has an ear and captured nut for a bolt but there is no hole in the core support for it.

make sure you have that little elbow that goes underneath the battery tray and attaches to the inner fender.
