CrazyDavey Posted September 13, 2012 Share Posted September 13, 2012 Don't over think it Jim....if your intent is to be able to drive for long distances at 70 mph then an overdrive trans of some type would help you do that. If it's just around town with some short highway then the 400 with even the 73's is fine. On mine 65 mph with a 28" tire is just a bit under 3000 rpm, you don't have to go 70+ if you don't want to...A 2.75 first gear will help you launch the car but you'll give it all back and then some with the 1-2 shift for your combo...for going fast guys go to a taller first gear (2.20 or 2.10) not shorter...
